I see some people have a problem because Angel called Buffy his girl. For me that's cute. I think girl feels loved when she hears a boy calling her his. And I know I'm not the only one. Well maybe I am here. But Spike called her his girl to, and no one has a problem with it.

Spike: Come on, that's it, put it on me. Put it all on me. That's my girl.
Buffy: I am not your girl.
Buffy: You don't have a soul. There is nothing good or clean in you. You are dead inside. You can't feel anything real. I could never be your girl.

I think it's a problem how she handled it. She didn't have to beat the hell out of him. He was trying to stop her from being arrested for 'murder'. I think she was angry at him trying to stop her, and it all just piled up.

The only reason I have an issue with that scene is based upon the context.

I wasn't aware anyone had a problem with it when Angel said it.

Back the Spike and Buffy scene, Spike fails to understand her self-loathing and why she feels it. Joss I think implied it was because he didn't have a soul. I'm not entirely certain of that but one thing I'm reasonable certain of is that the relationship couldn't continue like this. Even if Spike is ok with Buffy using and abusing him she hates doing it and she hates him for not understanding that and her guilt in general and she hates herself for feeling drawn to him nonetheless.

Oh, so Buffy is Faith's girl too. She said "That's my girl" in Consequences when Buffy hit her at the dock. 😛

Well, I think "That's my girl" is an expression when a girl does something you agree. It doesn't matter if you're a girlfriend of someone or not. In another case, "Are you still my girl?" is definitely for girlfriend/boyfriend. 🙂

I guess Buffy said that to Spike because she felt wrong to be with soulless Spike.

i guess the quotes you mention are from season 6?i haven't watched it but i guess Buffy's answer is based on self disappointment about sleeping with Spike...doing sth out of character

I must say it's my favourite. Because I belive every woman in love feels like a girl. It doesn't meather is she 16,35 or 60. If woman feels loved she feels like a girl.

I admit that the scene is cute and I like the images that can be put with it, but the scene always kinda irked me. It was so out of character. And I didn't like the tone that was used. Maybe it's just that I was always brought up to hate any form of possessing people romantically/sexually (in friendly manners, it never seemed too bad). But Angel just saying "you still my girl?" seemed so possessive and patriarchal. Maybe if there had been a smile when he said it ( 🙂 ) but the seriousness of it seemed so dominating and unequal.

This is one of my favourite lines. I don't think it was out of character, in fact I think it was very in character for the way in which they had developed up to season three. Angel had become pretty matter of fact and honest and relatively open. I see what you mean about it seeming possessive and such, but I don't think it is. I think the seriousness of the tone only denotes Angel's unhappiness and the fact he's pretty gutted. He basically only did what Buffy asked him to do, probably knowing all along the way she would react and that she would find it difficult to handle afterwards, which is what happened.

And like I said in another thread, the term 'girl' is just that; a term. Like Darla calling Angel 'dear boy'. It doesn't denote an age, at all.

I do not think that was possessive...Buffy was hurt even though Angel was just pretending with Faith...and he was serious because he doesn't wanna hurt her in any way

when he asked her that I said Always out loud haha! and then she said it and I was like EXACTLY! For me that defines Bangel. They'll always be in each other's hearts.
