Hello all! This is my first proper thread(nervousness)🙂
My friend is pretty new to Buffy and has seen all of the series just once through. She is going to France all of summer and can only bring one buffy box set, any ideas for a good season to bring?
Thanks🙂

Season 2 is my personal favourite but season 3 is pretty brilliant too 🙂

the eternal Buffy conundrum, Season 2 or Season 3 :)
It depends really. If it's a holiday then I wouldn't take one of the later seasons, maybe something a little lighter. 😛 I'm going to go with season 3. Lots of great stand-alone episodes, plus a really great arc running through it.

I'd take 3 or 5, but really, it's a matter of personal taste. I guess the most universally liked choice would be season 2 because, while I don't think it's the best (although it's certainly up there), it's really seen as the "classic" Buffy season, what with the gang being in high school and the height of the most well-known relationship on the show (Buffy/Angel, obviously).

I'll be very dull and say Season 2 or 3, like most of the others.

If I had to choose it would be Season 2, if only for the episode "Passion" and the heartbreaking finale!

Those are very much the same reasons why I chose it. Season 2 was the season that really hooked me and perhaps the first season of tv that made me actually feel something and not just watch for entertainment.

Very true🙂

I think I would pick season 2 simply because you really need to have seen it to get the full benefit of season 3.

I don't think half the blows of the third seasons would have been felt so accutely if you hadn't experienced season 2.

And yes, seasons 2 is an experience, not just a season of television.

😀

Well, I'd take Angel season 2, but I'm biased like that. And if I didn't have it I'd steal it. From a child, if necessary. (But only as a last resort. Well...if it was a big child, and they were nearer than the store...)

Anyway, thinking un-biasedly and in Buffy terms, I'd say Season 5. I think it flows the best when watched in quick succession. For the first few, you get the impression that there really should be a week between episodes, but Season 5 has a wonderful urgency flowing through it, especially towards the end. Spiral-tWotW-The Gift should really be one three part ep.
