This thread's about one of the more underappreciated actresses in the biz: Holly Marie Combs

She's best known for her role as Kimberly Brock in "Picket Fences", the role that got her famous in the first place. She has also starred in various TV movies, such as Our Mother's Murder and The Texas Cadet Murders. Recently, she had a cameo in the beginning of Ocean's Eleven.

Holly is currently starring in the TV show "Charmed". Here's pic of her:

I never watched picket fences (although i obviously have heard she was in it) so i know her 1st and foremost from charmed! Shes beautiful, sweet and intelligent!

Her acting style is simply amazing. She makes it look so easy, while some other actors I know have to strain themselves to get into their roles.
 
Totally - did you not ::heart:: how she showed her skill when, in an earlier season, she was overtaken by the 'deadly sin' of gluttony?! She was hysterical there! And piper, while you gotta ::heart:: 'er, is not normally hysterical! Lol 😉

Awww🙁 You're missing a lot. That's my opinion. Anyway, Holly is a very likeable person. She has played unlikeable characters, such as a killer's girlfriend who helped cover up the crime in Texas Cadet Murder, but that shouldn't reflect on her person. I also understand that the character Piper Halliwell isn't always sweet. She can be snarky, frustrating or sarcastic, depending on how she feels on a certain day. The thing that's great about Holly about playing those scenes is how she makes it look easy. A lot of actors have to really concentrate and strain themselves when performing and the audience can notice their body language. With Holly, people sometimes forget how difficult it really is because she does it so well and is discreet about it at the same time.
 
Holly makes Charmed. Everyone always makes out that the talent in Charmed was always Shannen Doherty and then Alyssa Milano but Holly has been most consistant, doesn't hog the limelight and in season 4 has had some amazing scenes showing her acting ability.
 
I like allysa too. They both make charmed for me, although i definetly prefer rose to shannen, and rose is really growing on me.
I think piper can definetly not be sweet - shes damn uptight and annoying sometimes, but thats just her good acting, and its how it should be: rounded acting; realistic.

I used to watch Picket Fences and TNN airs it in the morning in the US. She was good in the Texas Cadet Murders, but my most fave tv movie with her in it is Our Mother's Murder. We got to see her play a tough character and I liked that. It's a shame that she really doesn't receive a lot of press like Rose and Alyssa. Someone on the charmed boards was talking about this also. Anyway, that's my two cents!!😛 😛

Lol, i havent seen any of her films so cant comment! About your press comments in regard to her, maybe shes a more private person and doesnt want more unwanted attention? Just a thought.

I love her role in Charmed. But i wouldnt mind seeing her in movies too.Then again she might be content with her career and dosent really want to make any..
 
I like Charmed alot and I really like Holly's character Piper. I think she pulls off the character very well and she's a good actress. 🙂
