Question Holtz and Justine

I'm rewatching season three of Angel and its got me wondering...its implied that Holtz and Justine were in a relationship.

What you do guys think?
 
Where was that implied? Holtz always saw her as someone to control. Holtz was always about getting revenge on Angelus for killing his wife and child.
 
Good question. I don't think they were actually in a romantic relationship as such, but it's implied that the had feelings for one another, well at least on Justine's side.

Holtz I'm not so sure about. It's possible he cared about Justine, but I'm not sure if it was romantic on his part though.
 
Haha he tortured her! He stick a wrench through her hand! If she really loved him she is ... crazzy. For Holtz she was just a pawn for his fight against vampires.
 
I think Holtz may have taken advantage of some of Justine's feelings as a means to control her; but I never thought they were in a serious relationship.
 
I think their relationship was more like cult leader and groupie - Holtz had this mind-control thing going on. He has a particular skill with messing with peoples' heads - Wesley, Justine and the other minions - he even manipulates Angel. So I think Justine admires him in a let's-move-to-Utah-and-make-babies sort of way but Holtz sees her as a means to an end

I think it was more that he looked to her as his student, yet she wanted to be in a relationship with him. I always saw her feelings for him to be much more romantically inclined than his were toward her.
 
I saw their relationship as a leader/minion type of thing...but Justine seemed to view him as some type of father figure. Then I kind of thought that maybe she was interested in him in a romantic way...uch. Maybe she had a really disturbing relationship with her own father. She was a bit unhinged. Perhaps her sister's death made her go insane because she was the only real family member that she had and/or could trust. She seemed used to taking orders and being threatened. It was weird how she just did whatever Wesley said to, on the boat. He didn't tie her up or anything. It seemed like she could have tried to escape, but she just did what he said.

There was also the line where Holtz said that Justine was Connor/Stephen's mother; the way Justine looked at him was very vibey. I agree that Holtz most likely used those feelings to his advantage, but it's possible he cared about her to a degree. How he shows this affection is what worries me. He claimed to love Connor, but he also tied him to a tree and manipulated him into killing or punish his father, which would have left him fatherless, but you know people show love in different ways.
 
It was like The Master Holtz, controlling his Redheaded Pet, thats as far as the relationship went. Holtz cared about no-one.
 
I don't see those two in a relationship. She belongs with Bette. Oh sorry, wrong fandom. 😛
