Home is where...

Frenchy Faith: well i live in oslo, one of the most expencive(sp?) cities in the world along side Paris, new york city and tokyo, so that don't bother me at all, i'm so used to it... , robbers and dull grey buildings we have here to.. i'm used to having to watch out for that stuff!!!(you know DULL grey buildings can be so dangerouse LOL). I mean norway might be small, but we do have criminals, and we do have boring buildings AND pollution (in Oslo it can get quite bad, casue it's formed like a crater(sp? like a vulcano crater.... or such... 😉) so they arenot in my place of the heart statement above cause, they are not a factor, since they are equal.. of corse paris might have more of all of taht, but then again, oslo has aprox.550 000 people and paris mill. of people 😉 It's not important if it was i would proob live in the country side, which i have no desire to do LOL 😉 (Not for me... : laugh : )

SG: you lucky man! we have snow and WIND today.. yester day it snowed for an hour, raiend for an hour, snowed again and so on... 🙁

yesterday i was cold...and it was a freezing 70 degrees...
I was born and raised until I was 11 in New York City. I moved about 20 minutes away to Northern NJ and really struggled to adapt here. Although it's a hop, skip and a jump from NYC, the culture here is VERY different.

By now, I've found myself really loving NJ. The area where I'm from is not ugly or smelly as most people would assume NJ was. I love the area where I work and went to school, it's near the mountains and there's just some beautiful views and properties up there.

I guess I have two homes though, because whenever I go into NY, it's still all very natural for me (except the village, but that's a different story right Jacklyn?) 😀
 
Well, I have moved around ever since I was born. I was originally born in Oregon, then we moved to Texas, then North Carolina, then The Bahamas, then Michigan, then Indiana, then Illinios, then Wisconsin, and finally back to Oregon again. Even though I've moved around everywhere, I havn't really found a place called "home". And I've never really fit in any of these places, but when I turn 18, I want to move to New York City, attend a performing arts school, and hopefully become and actress!
 
Even tho I'm still stuck in Poland I feel most at home in the UK....in London itself or close to it..that's the only place I can be truly myself without people looking down on me or thinking I'm crazy
 
I don't have a home as such. My dad was in the army so I spent my childhood travelling the world. The longest amount of time I've ever lived in one place was four years in Southampton when I went to University. My parents live in the West of England now, but I don't really see that as home. I do like London though, despite it's dirt and grime, and it's atrocious transport. It's got everything you could ever need. Well, apart from good transport!

I do sometimes regret not having lived in one place all my life and not having friends that I have known since childhood. But I can't blame my parents for that as they did what they thought was the right thing.
 
Yea I'm the same with the travelling and lack of home... I'm in the Navy, so I stay where ever I'm posted... When I'm not posted, I'm in my mom's house... But yea... Not where I wanna be 😉
 
I live in Pensacola Florida right now and its nice i like it and all its close to my bf and i have great friends but its not home, my real home is were i was born and raised and thats in dayton ohio. I remember everything about it We lived on mainstreet on the west side which was a bad part of town, the house wasn't all that great and i lived next door to a drug house but it was my home its all i knew. by the time i was 5 i already learned how to take care of my self and often rode my bike like 10 blocks from my house to a great restraunt called grandma's she always gave me free smiley face pancakes any time i wanted it was great i knew everyone in grandma's and at the corner store and everyone loved me in the neighborehood then i moved when i was ten and i just hate it i wanna move back to dayton or troy were my grandmother lives its a beautiful town very peaceful
 
Well, I've never really found Wisconsin all that exciting, but it is my home!

But the place that I love to be (I've been there three times!) is Vermont in the fall. I love to see the trees and how they are changing. You just feel one with nature, and it's an amazing experience. I love to be there in the fall and see the covered bridges and the quiet. It's so peaceful. I know you're thinking... hey, that's the same as Wisconsin, but it just feels different. Like a fairy tale land.

*Note: Would not like to live in Vermon in the winter.... shivers! Way too cold.
 
Glasgow in Scotland is where Im happiest. I moved there when I went to uni 5 years ago. Unfortunately I had to move back home temporarily. My boyfriend and I have put down a deposit on a flat there but we cant get the flat for sure unless one of us has a job. He's got an interview tomorrow so fingers crossed.

I love Glasgow. Most of my friends live there and I miss it so much. Im going through to stay with a friend on Friday so I can go out and see all my friends. I cant wait. Its been ages! 🙂

I live in Dublin, the big smoke. In comparison to say, New York, it's a stunted backwater, but I still find it a little suffocating. See, I love the nightlife and energy of Dublin, but I still miss the countryside. I'm a yokel at heart. 😀 I come from Westmeath, and I grew up a mile from my nearest neighbour and five miles from the nearest shop. Thing about a city of any size is that you're never really on your own. There's somebody within thirty feet of you at all times, and sometimes that gets to me a little. Home is where the only noise is a horny pheasant yelling his head off in the distance.
