It had been years since I'd seen a full episode Buffy after having been WAY into it during the original run. It was not until I read a piece in Joss Whedon: The Complete Companion while researching an essay on complex morality in contemporary media that the spark was again struck and, I am happy to say, burns again with the heat of the sun. It really does feel like coming home.

My favourite episode is "Once More With Feeling", though I also have a strong affinity for "Earshot" in season 3. My favourite character in the core Scooby Gang was Xander but is now Giles. He manages to be dignified and badass at the same time (I swear that is not a Giles cosplay in my profile pic. that is just how we academic types dress). I also really liked Joyce and Tara. Seasons 5 and 6 have most of my favorite episodes. Not big on three and am still getting over the trauma of 7.

I think the majority of fans love OMWF, though there is a sizeable minority who don't. There is a thread about that somewhere 🙂 My favourite character is Buffy and favourite season is 6. I love season 7 too, though you will find a lot of people on the board who were also traumatised by seasons 6 and 7 😀
