I know what you mean. Which is why some people don't think its that much of a problem for 'gay' to be used as a negative term, because most of the people using it don't intend it to be homophobic. But it is.

Imagine if I turned round and went 'Urgh, that is so straight!' Haha. I might start doing that 😀

I like to think that even if it doesn't stop completely, people will start thinking about what they say and then...you never know.

No, I mean in the country.

A recent TV documentary went to the 10 worst schools in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and my school was on of them.

Doesn't matter if you say it as a joke - its a term that is used in a way that perpetuates the negative stereotype that there is something wrong with being gay.
 
What was the name of the documentary? I think I'd like to watch it.

Yes, you're right.
It means homosexual.
It means happy.

Any other suggestive meaning is born from ignorance and intolerance and people continually arguing its OK to use it in that sense, after they have been told why its wrong to use it, are, themselves, ignorant and intolerant - no matter how you want to paint it.
 
I am really saddened by by articles like this. I don't understand why people have to be so ignorant. Why does it matter what sexuality people are?

Also, I'm in high school, and it really annoys me when people use "gay" as an insult. What's so bad about it???

Well as it seems you are not gay, its probably pretty easy to say something like that. If you were gay, I think you'd feel differently.
