Oh man. That is such a miserable thought. She would be so unhappy. I wouldn't want to see her that way.
I wonder if it would have taken longer for her to become interested in Riley. I imagine it would. . .

wickedtiger86;978363 And I was so mad that it happened . . . and I do kinda think like [MENTION=11505 said:MeatAbstract[/MENTION] that Buffy would have been really mad that he turned back, at least for a while.
I don't know how angry she really would have been with him, before she asks how she is supposed to go she told him that she understood his decision. She wasn't angry, just desperately sad.
I feel her anger would be directed at the universe, to be honest. For giving her this life, these decisions. However, I can imagine her becoming angry with him if he wasn't as despairing as she was. And I imagine he wouldn't have been because he was motivated by the mission. But then again, whose to know how differently he would have dealt with it if he had share it, and probably relive it, with Buffy. I'd imagine she'd want to discuss it with him a lot.
After this I doubt we would have seen Buffy allow herself to develop feelings for anyone out of fear of losing someone else.
I'm not sure I agree. I really don't think she would have never had any other love after that. It's not like she's gonna become a nun just because of what happened with Angel. People get over things like that, no matter how strong these things are, how painful. She's not gonna be stuck in the past. She would for a while, but not for that long. She's gonna get over that and her fears.
