Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know what kind of grades everyone gets in school (for those of you who are in school, obviously). 🙂

My cumulative GPA that I put in my college applications was 3.5. Gonna go to school in California somewhere. Too bad there isn't really a UC Sunnydale.

We done have A's and stuff at my school. we have 1s, 2s and 3s etc. i have alright grades i guess. sometimes i get ones, by sometimes i get bad grades like 5s!

I left school last summer, at university now, but in schoolwork I got B's or C's, in my A Level exams I got straight A's 😀
Im only in Year 8 (I go to a secondary school in the UK) and I'm only 13yrs old but most of the curriculum levels I get are 6's and 7's which in my year we are supposed to get 5's and 6's. It goes like this:
YEAR 2 S.A.T.S (AGED 7): You are expected to get level 2, or 3 which is above standard.
YEAR 6 S.A.T.S (AGED 11): You are expected to get level 4, or 5 or if your a brainbox level 6.
YEAR 9 S.A.T.S (AGED 15): Levels 5,6,7 or 8 if your brainy.
Then, in year 10 and 11 - you study for 2 year's for your G.C.S.E's and you take mock's in the January of your last few months, you finish school and then go back in May/June to do the real thing. You finish school when your 16. You can either stay on to do VI Form until your 18 doing your A Levels or you go to college and study on a course for them. After finishing VI Form you can go to University depending on what your A Level results were.
I'm hoping to go to University and the best one near me is Warwick University which some of my teachers went to. Of cause, if I move to America by the time I'm 18, i'll be going to and American University (way better) - only in my dreams.
By the way, there is a UC Sunnydale in a way. UCLA. They shot the scenes at The University of California in Los Angeles.

My grades are mostly good. But I really need to do better in science. I wish I went to Sunnydale High.

I get mostly A's and B's. In my school, we do GPA's out of 100. There are four quarters in one year (we get a report card every quarter), and last quarter I got a 98.567, which is pretty damn good.😛

Yeah, at my school we also do GPA's out of 100. Anything else just confuses me... LOL I'm still waiting to get my report card in the mail to see what my GPA is for last semester, but I'm not worried. I had A's in my classes before I took all the final exams. How much can a grade possibly drop? Lol 😀

Mainly C's and below in bio and chem. Do alright in psychology tho. However in my AS's i got c,d,e,u. I am quite dumb and go out way too much.

We don't have the same grade system, but I would have mostly C's and a few D's, not that I'm bad or anything, I'm taking the highest level of education so it's allright, but I just don't feel like studing ... period!

Don't you think about college, though? Maybe I'm one of few who do, being all nerdy and everything. But how can you get into a good school if you don't have good grades😕

Uh, well, you can't. Some people just don't give a crap. Then again, school isn't all about grades. Colleges look for people who do good on SATs and are active in extracurricular activities; but I doubt anybody who already doesn't give a crap about school would take part in those activities or do good on their SATs (except for Oz lol).Originally posted by queenofbuffdom86

I do think about university and I can go there with my grades, that's because our educational system is leveled, I'm on the highest level, if we had like you only one level, I'd have straight A's ... and maybe some B's. And that all without any effort!

How do u know if you haven't done a levels, aren't they completely different curriculums, different countries, different standards? I think a levels are extremely hard and no-one can really get staight A's with no effort whatsoever. No way.

Depends on the person, and if I did low level, which (no offence) most people do, I know for one, I could pass with A's, last year I helped a friend of mine out with his chemistry final, he found it really difficult, but it was childs play for me ... I don't want to be bragging, but it is reality, and off course I don't know if it is really comperable with the American Sytem, but since the Netherlands has one of the best educational system in the world with very high standards, I think it won't get much more difficult!

True, a lot of people don't really care at all. And true, colleges take into account grades and activities. Personally, though, I just can't not care about grades. It's not in me. lol. You can probably tell that I'm such a spaz when it comes to school. I stress way too much. 🙂

A Levels are the English System. In the Netherlands, is the level you are taking the first set of compulsory examinations ie you have to take this before you leave school? Because that's the difference between a lot of systems and the English System; you have to be 16 before you leave school, and ordinarily, take your GCSEs. After that you don't have to carry on but you can then do your AS Levels the next year, and A Levels the year after that. I don't know much about the Netherlands educational system unfortunately.

And if you do VWO you can choose again, for either Atheneum, without Latin and ancient Greek, or Gymnasium, with Latin and ancient Greek (the thing I'm doing!). Now at the end of these years, you do finals, if you have a high enough grade, you'll get your diploma and that is enough to get you into a next school. That's either College for HAVO or University for VWO.
