How Can Tell If You DVD Player plays Region 1 DVDs?

I'm from the UK and I want to buy the Dead Like Me DVD's from the US through an import but how can I tell if my DVD played will play them?

I would like to know the answer to this question too. I'm buying a DVD someone told me the region things might not match.

You could either borrow an R1 disc if any of your friends have them to test it. Or post the make and model number and i'll check it out for you, as even if it is locked some models can be uncoded.

Of course if someone else gets to this thread before me, they might check it out for you. Or you could even go through google and type in the specs of your player to see what comes up.

That site can let you check, may also be able to give you a hack to let you play them.

You could always call the company of the DVD player or go to the company website, maybe they would be able to help?
