How cool is THIS? Sears Tower

The Sears Tower's Sky Deck has opened glass-bottomed "Ledges" that you can step out onto. The glass supposedly holds up to 5 tons, and they're 1,353 feet up.

All I can think is, "who's that idiot in the SKIRT in the second pic?" (Yes, I know they're artist renderings, thank you....)

OMH NO! *faints* When I went there, I chickened out of even going up at all! I could NEVER go out on the glass.

The CN tower in Toronto has a glass floor as well and it's even higher up than that. I've been on it and it is a bit disconcerting...you definitely get a bit of vertigo going on there. Only difference is it's still inside the building, not a seperate ledge on the outside which I guess would make it a bit creepier. Where is the Sears tower?? (I might betray a bit of stupidity there)

Nope, not stupidity at all! I should have posted that the Tower is in Chicago.

It's soon to be renamed the Willis Tower, tho....another American icon makes way for progress!

I would never trust it.
Pretty sure that I would hear strange noises from the glass and so on... Sure, it will probably just be me that imagine those cracking sounds. But why take the chance? 🙂
