How could Angel rescue Kate?

I think that the Powers intervened, but why? I don't think she actually is a major player in an apocalypse or that they just showed Angel that he can save someone. If it mattered that much, why didn't the Powers do that sooner rather than wait till he almost hit rock bottom? Is there something else that could do this?

I think that it was a miracle.

For some really odd reason she was meant to survive her pity suicide attempt.

What bothers me is that, if she was supposed to survive; what was it for? If she was important, how come we never saw her again?

It's probably because she went to star in other tv series..I think it is Law&Order...I also thought that after her suicide attempt we'll see her more often....

Maybe were not supposed to think that far into it. I drove myself crazy trying to figure it out when I first saw it. Maybe it was just a miracle, just meant to happen. He was supposed to save her. Just a mystery without an answer. Nobody knows, and they're not supposed to know.

Well thats my answer, this way i don't have to go crazy over the it! lmao

and yes, she is now in Law & Order

I just watched that episode tonight.

Kate explained it all.... something about a higher power helping them out because she never invited him in.

So.... oh, who knows, who knows? Probably the Powers that Be? Or she was probably just very close to dead or something.... (but honestly, as said before, how could a cold shower revive somebody from taking massive amounts of pills and mixing it with alcohol?)

I believe it was the powers that be, maybe it was a test to see if Angel had actually had that "epiphany" Kate hadn't been the best to him in the past after she found out he was a vampire, and I am sure that he could have thought "Who cares if she dies." Although, he went and saved her life, a true honorable event, which showed that he was back on track on the road to redemption.

Can't a vampire enter a dead persons house w/o an invite? I think that Kate was in fact dead for a few seconds so Angel coould've come in. But if she was just passed out and death was on the way then the Powers might have interfered. But why would the Powers save her...unless she was a player(minor or major) in the apoclypse thing?

i always thought that maybe she called out to him somehow, like sub-conciously but im probably wrong- what ever happened to kate- i dont remeber ever seeing her again

i think it was the Powers That Be or something like that, because it was clear that she was alive because Angel checked for breath, that's why he did the shower thing, just to wake her up, so then she didn't die.

It might have been Jasmine...Skip said there were a lot of seemingly impossible things that happened to make her coming possible, this may have been one of them. (His saving Kate gave him the confidence he needed to go back to the others, so Darla would come to allof them, Cordy would meet Conner, etc, etc.)

Was Kate actually dead for a few seconds before Angel revived her or why was it that he could come in without an invitation?

Yes, she was. At least that's what she thinks - this is why she believes a divine intervention was at work cutting her a break - giving her another chance.
It was a break for both of them and has to be considered in light of their lives at the moment. Kate gets something in exchange for ruining her life by porsuing supernatural crimes, rather than the mundane. Angel gets to actualize his need to help.

Another way to read this - her call to Angel was an implied invitation . But, Kate believes it a miracle, so I like the first theory better.

That entire dialogue is one of my absolute favorite moments on Angel - that and the preceeding trashing Angel gives Lindsey.
Nothing to cement the stuff of an epiphany like a knock down drag out putting sleaze in place.

I was, in a word, surprised, when Kate and Angel were talking after the incident and Kate said that he'd gotten into her apparment without an invite. That was a great moment. I don't really know of an explination of why it happened. I like to think that the higher powers had stepped in to perform that miracle...

I think that the higher powers stepped in too, as Angel had hios epithany shortly before going to see Kate, maybe the powers allowed him inside as a reminder of what he is ment to do????

Or i am talking drivel lol! It does look like they(tptb) interveined so that they both would be encouraged after their epithanys they had???

I don't think Kate died because i think she might know that a vampire can't be invited in unless the owner is dead (with all that vampire research she did), and when she is talking to Angel she gives me the feeling that she was still alive. Thats why it is so surprising for both Angel and Kate that Angel could enter her house.

I watched this today and i still can't figure out why Angel could get in without an invitation. lol
