How could Cangel have developed quicker in Season 3?

How would you have felt if Cangel became a couple earlier on in the season and when would you have liked them to get together during season 3? How could they have written this into the season, perhaps instead of bringing Groo back they could have started the Cangel relationship sooner? Or do you prefer Groo and Cordy together? Lots of questions there, sorry.

Haha, I love angel and cordy together! I think it would have been great to see them get to begin a relationship in season 3 - or earlier - and actually be together for a long time (forever?) 🙂 But then, I think groo is a great character and it was important for cordy to realize that love doesn't always look the way you expect it to.

The more cangel...the happier I am. So yeah, of course I would have LOVED to see their relationship start earlier on. Although it might not have dragged on as long as it did (not a real relationship, just what they had....I'm not sure exactly what I would have called that) because if they had really "gotten together" like Buffy and Angel had...I think it would have ended pretty quickly for the same reasons that Bangel ended LOL. I was not very happy with the way that they took Cangel's relationship, but I must say that the ending of it was very sweet and touching. So in a way...I'm glad they didn't make it into a full blown relationship just because I wouldn't have wanted it to end like Bangel.

Cangel was so brief, the best answer I can think of is have Groo for the first half of season 3 and then have Cordelia/Angel confess their love and be together for the second half of the season

Less Cangel is always better 🙂

For sure!

But I suppose if the writers were gonna be all cangel-y (which makes me think of cankles btw), they could've easily sped up the flirting and brought Groo in for more conflict opportunity. I didn't hate cordy and groo, though.

Dagenspear disagrees: No. Lol. All in good fun. We're entitled to our differing opinions. Even though I've never undertsood this perspective.

Not much to understand, really - it's called some people like some "couples" better than others.

Cangel was so brief

From reading some posts I see a lot of people saying Cangel was "brief." But it doesn't feel like that
I'm on my first watch of Angel and I'm in the middle of season 4, and it's felt like the Cordelia/Angel romance has been going on since season 2. But going..nowhere lol
I thought something actually happened between them

No, it goes nowhere and does nothing. The only time I have any remote interest in Cangel is in Waiting in the Wings. Other than the brief flirting and magical spell shenanigans in that ep, Cangel can go jump off a cliff. Keep em friends; it works much better.

This is why I hate Cangel threads the question was how could Cangel have progressed faster NOT do you think it should have. Yet everyone jumps in with how they hate Cangel. Fine you hate them, and in a discussion on whether or not they should have happened your opinion would be totally on topic. But here not so much. /endrant

I like how it progressed I just wish the ending had been different and season 4 had gone down differently. But even though I like Groo I wouldn't have minded if they'd not brought him back, and Cangel had gotten together after WITW and then everything would have played out different.

actually I believe the orrigional question was how would I feel about Cangel developing earlier. I wouldn't have liked it. It was more of a play on how Season 3 ended (meeting at the cliffs, the "cliffhanger" ending) than being mean.
Actually having Angel and Cordy acknowledge their feelings rather than other people making observations about them. It always bugged me that they never admitted their feelings until after their opportunity had past.

Groo not coming back and Cordelia not leaving in season 3. I would have loved them to talk more about their feeling, not just their feelings about each other but about everything that was happening

I'd like to see Cordy open up more about her feelings for Angel and how they've grown etc. I think they were both very much in denial until the last minute when it was too late. I also think Groo turned up at the wrong time, just as Angel was beginning to admit his feelings for Cordy.

Never understood the need for Cangel at all - they were at their best as friends. The moment Cordelia began to use peroxide she was doomed, it was quite obvious to me. It is a blessing they dragged their feet with Cangel for so long - because otherwise Cordy would have turned dead or evil a season earlier.

If Baby frickin Connor hadn't been kidnapped...I think they may have had a chance. I'm not a huge Cangel fan. Something about that always seemed wrong, but at the same time I like the idea. I'm so indecisive. I think I just wanted them to be happy.
