As a character, in your own opinion, how could they have developed Tara more during the 3 seasons of Buffy?

Given her something to solve on her own, like in Family. She was always with the others, not off on her own, like Xander in The Zeppo, Buffy in almost any episode, Giles in The Dark Age etc etc.

Just by giving her more lines and interactions with characters that weren't Willow. More of her thoughts and ideas would have been nice to build up more character, like with Anya. It was like the 2 of them were extremes.

If they could have told us more about her past... that would have been very intersting. She was only the girl standing there with the gang...without other friends! Why? Tara and other friends or Tara meets her old love, that was what I wanted to see, but this wish was never fullfilled!

Oh wow, so much!
I wanted to hear more of her thoughts--her opinions. I wanted to know just how good she was with magic--wanted to see her use it more often, not to the point of being hypocritical obviously, but just enough to help more consistently.
I wanted to see her come up with ideas, discover things. Wanted to see her interact with all of the characters. For example, the exchanges she had with Spike in "Older and Far Away" were so great--we needed more of that! Just to see more of her sense of humor, in general.

I think Tara's character was well developed, but I would not mind seeing an another Tara centered ep, especially during season 6. Also it would have been great to have Tara save the day, even if it was just once, I think her character had some unexplored awesomeness it just needed to be tested.

I really liked the growing friendship between Buffy and Tara from when Buffy calls the scooby gang Tara's family, to when Buffy decides to tell Tara about Spike, and the way Buffy really wanted her at her birthday and that hug they shared there. (On a side note I love the way Tara calls everyone "sweetie.") I could see the Buffy/Tara friendship building even more, so yes thats one aspect I would have liked to have seen develop.

Yeah, I agree. They should have given her a lot more interaction with the other characters besides Willow. I loved how in Season 6, she and Buffy seemed to get closer, but not enough to really make her feel like more than just Willow's girlfriend.

Agree with everyone else on this. I think she was well developed but we just lacked any real "depth" in her character background.

It would have been good if we could have known more about her and her past.

I feel like they could have improved her relationship with the other characters so that instead of just being Willows girlfriend, she was a friend and really part of the gang. I also would have liked to see her powers developed more and the relationship with Dawn explored more because I thought that was really cute.

Also it would have been great to have Tara save the day, even if it was just once,

She did save the day in Who Are You, Normal Again and Tough Love, at least to an extent.

I concur with the expressed opinion that there needed to be more interaction between Tara and characters of the non-Willow variety, especially Dawn, Xander and Anya. And she needed a better backstory, the "demon" thing is a contradictory mess. It probably would have been a good idea to not make Willow so powerful, so that she and Tara would need to work together more. Or see why exactly she was against resurrections but helped revive Buffy. Or have her and Giles discuss Willow's magic problems and tihnk of a plan to help, instead of leaving and hoping for the best, Sadly, Tara was often more of a plot device than a fully-fleshed character.

I love Tara the way she is. But, like almost everyone else has said, I would've LOVED to see more of her and her interactions with other characters.

I would have liked to have seen her less the person she was when she first came on the show and more like she was in OMWF. A more Amber-like Tara would have been better in my opinion.

I think she was really well developed for a side character. The best thing they did for Tara's character was break her and Willow up. When they were first together, it was like Willow was the dominant party in the relationship and Tara was always thinking that she was the lucky one to be with Willow but when they broke up Tara became much stronger, wasn't as awed by Willow and when they got back together Tara was so much stronger and self-confident. it would have been so interesting to see how Tara and Willow's relationship as well as her position in the Scoobie gang would have developed after that. Too bad about that bullet.
