she didnt seem to have any cuts so in the gift how did she bleed to death? and wouldnt she be pale and a lot smaller or flatter? i just always wondered

Yeah, and what happened to the dragon that escaped through the dimensional rift, and how did the Glory gang ever get the Building Permits to build that huge ugly stucture, and how did Buffy manage to fall into the final frame set up of the original "King Kong".

I half expected Giles to say, "It wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty that killed the beast."

When I get past all that though, I have to admit something to you... I cried.

Awwww...Nerd4hire...you have a beautiful spirit to go with that shiny spiffy brain of yours!

I don't think she had to. Her's and Dawn's blood were the same and so to stop it she just had to die so as to fool the...well, whatever was allowing that to happen. I don't think she had to bleed to death too. It was like a sacrifical loop hole...

Well its SunnyDale and noone was exactly useing that place so they did what they wanted freely. The Dragon is just probably off somewhere sleeping and eating people.

When Buffy jumped into the portal I think it just killed her from the inside and how she was able to fall so perfectly to the ground like that I have no idea.

i know she was neatly laid out! i wondered where the dragon went also

The dragon got sucked back into the portal kinda portal. Once Buffy jumped it would all be safe.

I thought Buffy fell to the ground and started to bleed, but the portal thing sucked life out of her thats how she died. I mite be wrong. :: party :

I always thought that it killed her through sucking the life out of her, not bleeding.
Buffy may have already been bleeding from fighting Glory anyway.
I just dont know! lol!

Blood is life. (How many times have we heard that?)

So, I'm thinking that when Buff jumped in the energy, it sucked the life out of her as said before by another poster. So, it used her life as a replacement for Dawn's blood, considering Dawn was made out of Buffy.

It's very confusing.

Hmm... the dragon probably went to some mountain range and eats innocent people as they try to climb to the top.

It's a similar storyline to the season two finale, when she was fighting Angel. She needed his blood to close that portal but was about to behead him.
I think if they just needed her blood to close the portal then why not use the same method on herself that was used on Dawn to open the portal. But that wouldn't have made for such a good season finale!!

I think it was when the 'blood stops flowing' then the portal will close. Not necessarily meaning that she had to bleed to death just as long as it stopped flowing.

I agree that buffy could have had been cut from fighting with Glory and that is where the blood came from. But I think taht the blood was inside her, and when she hit the portal I think she probably died from like the shock of it all(JUST theories here ppl!), so it had the blood it needed. Like Spikedbuffy said Blood is life. I don't think that she physically needed to be bleeding. It got her life so it had the blood to stop the portal! Also this was the greatest season finale ever(yes in ways better than chosen)! the song "sacrifice"(which was playing when buffy was giving her final(or so we thought) words) is great. And yes, I did cry as many other fans did!

after reviewing your theories i think that it just took her life not blood like it kiled her but it didnt take the blood

Ok, I probably missed somthing, so correct me if I'm wrong, but i though once the blood was in there, Buffy just had to jump, that it didn't need her blood. But, yeah, how did buffy land on her *back?* And in that perfect position?

I cried. But I also cried in Fool For Love (I felt sorry for the guy, alright!), The Body, Forever (bawling in that episode), Tough Love (Taaarrraaa!), even The Weight of the World (don't ask.) So...

For all those little questions except the falling on her back answers can be made up. Discussing them makes you miss out on the big picture I think.
