How did Buffy know about Jenny knowing about Angel/Angeleus?

What confuses is me is how did Buffy get that vision in her dreams of Jenny being at Angel's grave? Who sent her that vision

Buffy's prophetic dreams are something I miss in later seasons. As far as I can remember there are zero prophetic dreams in Seasons 5, 6 or 7. and if there are, they feature much less.

There's one in season 7! When she sees the hundreds and hundreds of ubervamps...but they really didn't make it clear that it was a dream. Buffy is awake, they zoom in on her face, and then we see the vamps charging. What the hell? Haha I didn't realize that it had been a dream until my second re-watch.

And Joyce makes a lot of dream appearances to buffy in Season 7, although they're very cryptic.

The conversation between Buffy and The First in Chosen which makes Buffy realise "We're going to win" should, in my opinion, have been a dream.

Though I do like the irony that The First's taunting is what gives Buffy the idea of how to win the fight.

I agree with Sweet J that I miss the prophetic dreams in later seasons even though we get those cryptic ones with Joyce. Although I love cryptic dreams (Restless is one of my fave episodes), in my opinion the slayer's prophetic dreams should not be cryptic and should be straight forward (like the one where she sees Jenny).

This thread title reminded me of Friends and "They don't know that we know they know we know!" 😛

Anyway, I did miss the dreams. I thought they would have played more of a role since at the very beginning they were sort of stressed as one of the Slayer's vital tools. I suppose it could make things a little too easy if she's getting psychic hints about every big bad, but I still think they could have been cool if they'd made them more prominent in the series.

Maybe no one. Maybe Buffy just somehow picked it up.

I think it's more likely that it's the power that gives the slayers their strength. Or the original slayer send the dreams. Or the shadow men.

Yes, but that vision was given to Buffy from the shadow men, not exactly the same as a propechy dream.

Also, the Joyce visions/dreams aren't Joyce, they're probably the First. I wish I had the source, but Espenson said that she was suprised no one got it was The First, not Joyce, appering in a episode(I think it was Conversation with dead people). So that made me assume it was always The First. Makes sense since if it was Joyce, she would be very OOC, making Buffy doubt herself and her friends.

I always got that it was The First being Joyce in CWDP from the first time I watched it. But there are other occasions where Joyce talks cryptically to Buffy in dreams which could be seen as prophetic dreams (to bring the subject back round to the point of this topic). I don't think it was ever said anywhere that The First has the power to appear in dreams (and if it did then surely it wouldn't be limited to appearing only as dead people as anything can go in dreams). So I think we can assume (as we've been given no reason not to) that dream-Joyce is not the First.

I can think of three reasons.

The First can appear in dreams, or atleast manipulate them, as shown in Amneds.

I don't have screencaps in front of me, but didn't dream-joyce and CWDP-Joyce have the same clothes? I need to check that.

Dream-Joyce seemed to try to turn Buffy away from her friends.

I hadn't remembered that. I'm currently working my way through season 2 (probably my least watched season so I'm really enjoying it). Once I get onto season 3 I'll look out for that!
