How did Faith get in SD High?

maybe synder just never noticed she was there and just thought she was any other student lol.

I know we seen Faith IN the school talking to the Scoobies, but did she actually go to class?

I didnt think she went to class. It would have been wasted on her anyway hehe 😛
I didnt think it was a big deal with her walking around campus, she wasnt disturbing anyone and was likely assumed to be another student. We had people cut through our school all the time to get to the train station.

ahahaa I never thought of that! Faith kicking it in a cream straw hat would be HILARIOUS!
lol at my school if you walked through the gate in anything other than school uniform you were turned away, it's a really good thing Buff didn't go there 🙂

but I don't think Faith was ever officially a student (nor was "Ford" was he? or Darla when she snuck in - gosh, pretend students are just willynilly around SHS)

Bahahaha I am imagining faith and buffy in that green uniform :p
It's wierd because in s1 SDHS was gated but in the later seasons like S3 you dont see anymore gates so I'm guessing the gates went bye bye(not like a gate would stop Faith anyway) Plus most of the time she was in the library which was like a place where apparently Synder never went or else he might have noticed all the training and weapons going on in there...

I forgot about the gate in S1.... Interesting point.
well West Beverley High isn't gated, so I'm guessing when they moved outside shooting to an actual location (rather than random gates on the lot) the gated idea had to go as well, which is a shame, cause I loved that moment when Buffy scales the gates and lands the other side 🙂

Aww, good ol' West Beverly High/ Torrence High School... its an iconic set :)
But they would have had to have other exits/entrances that wernt locked in case of an emergency. What would happen if their was a plumbing explosion and no one could find the keys??

or if say, the person with the keys got ate up by a Giant Snake? Cause that happens sometimes...

LOL Nice one.
Faith got into the high school whenever she wanted the same way anybody got in anywhere in Sunnydale. From "Welcome To The Hellmouth" to "Chosen," nobody in the entire town seemed to ever lock up anything. The museum, the Bronze, any store or shop, and certainly the school, and even a vineyard with a storage building stocked with enough wine to float a battleship. There must be either the most careless or most stupid people in the world living in that little town. If nobody ever takes note of all of their neighbors dying from extreme blood loss one night, and the next night knocking on their door and asking to come in for a snack, why would they notice one teen aged girl wandering the halls of the local high school?

well except for all those times that they broke in, ripped of door handles, kicked in doors or used Riley's handy 'master key' :D

I think there is a lock deamon that no one knows about, there is a scene I remeber with Giles where he says "Allright, i know I locked that this time." I bet they have a dibold the diabolical or something running amok.
I highly doubt Faith would attend the classes! She would come in the library and have some chitty chatty time with the Scoobies, but she wouldn't come to learn anything! She wasn't in school

I think they just didn't notice her, I mean she has the good age to go there and all that. Though I also was surprised when I saw her on the window and wondering how she got there...

Well I don't know how high security the schools were you people went to, but getting into my old school was not really a problem. The doors were always open during the day and I guess if you're about same aged as the regul.ar students you'll blend. That school even accepted outsiders. We had this great basketball court within schoolgrounds a lot of teens from around town (so also students that didn't go to that school)hung out on. At our school, according to the teachers, you could even tell the actual students from outsiders....with those 3 different school kinds we have in Germany the kind I went to is usually seen as upper class, while the Hauptschule, for instance (that was 5 minutes away from our school, so they came there a lot), is rather low class with a lot of immigrants. And apparently you can really tell what school somebody goes to just form the way they speak and what they wear.
So yea, summing up, at least at my school it was totally not a problem to get into a school you don't attend, and even if the authority figures knew about that, they didn't make a big deal out of it.
So I'm guessing it was similar in Sunnydale?

i had wondered this last time i watched it all thru... she and wesley booled through the school didnt they?

weirdness, the security defo went down after the pilot and nightmares... lol i think billy got rid of the gates when the nightmares took over the school... and nobody put them back.

about the gates, maybe snyder got rid of them when he took over? maybe he thought it was more fun to stop students from leaving himself 😛?

I always thought it was so crazy how Faith and Wesley (and Ford, for that matter) just came and went as they pleased. They even went to school functions like Homecoming and Prom! In any real school, this would never be allowed to happen... But I guess if they had these scenes where Snyder caught them and escorted them off the grounds would have been kinda stupid huh? 😉

Why wouldn't they be aloud to go to proms and dances? People can take dates can't they?

My highschool had gates, but they weren't locked during school hours and we often had people wandering around, especially the school ovals. Generally it was older boyfriends, kids that went to other schools, friends that had dropped out, or people that had moved away and had come back to visit. About half the time they would get little visitor badges, but half the time they would just wander around.

I'm pretty sure I've spoken about this before though and went into more detail.

Basically, I really don't see what they big deal is...

And don't forget the whole gang trooping in and out of the school, specifically the library, at all hours of the day and night, even spending Oz's monthly 3 nights there. In "Welcome To The Hellmouth," Darla and her "Dinner Date" had to break in. After that, the school seemed to never lock their doors.

Yeah, the night time thing always seemed a bit stranger, but I guess I would put it down to Giles saying he was saying back to work, maybe even saying that the gang were staying back to help him re-shelf the library or scan books! Same deal as when Jenny stayed back to work on Angelus's soul restoration spell.

No amount of reasoning can get away from how unrealistic the situation is though. After all, it is about a vampire slayer!

I used to have a drama teacher that was about 31 and a few of us girls used to stay back after school and practise plays and sometimes he would suggest movies for me to watch as I was really into film. Sometimes even on public holidays we'd go in to do drama stuff... Then again a year after I left it came out that he had been having a relationship with a girl in the year above me and then they both packed up and moved to the eastern states...
