How did faith know???

Since faith hadn't shown up on buffy until season 3 i have two questions about her/dawn.
1.How did faith know about dawn?
2.How did Dawn know of faith?

They never met eachother and since the monk guys made dawn and everyone ele's memories after dawn showed up in season 5 which was 2 yrs after faith left. I am just wondering where i missed the part of faith getting a 'dawn' memory.Now I know that whatever the monks did affected buffy,her family, and friends.But why her then enemy? Since faith was her enemy in season3. I don't get it.

The same happened with Angel/Dawn...the monks just changed their memories

Now I know that whatever the monks did affected buffy,her family, and friends.But why her then enemy? Since faith was her enemy in season3. I don't get it.

Well,at the begining of S3 Faith was B's friend😛😉.
Dawn,in theory,was in Sunnydale when all the Faith thing was happening. The monks made her 'remember' Faith.

Concerning the being B's enemy thing,one word: Spike
The monks changed his memories too. Guess it was necessary. Dawn had to know what happened in Sunnydale the previous years.

Yes when the monks made the memories, they made them as though Dawn had existed from birth. Thus, she would have been around through all of the Seasons of Buffy, interacted with all of the characters and such. And her memories were from birth also, not just from when she was created.
 
...And since Dawn would have been around during the This Year's Girl/ Who Are You? arc, the chances are that according to the revised memories, Dawn would have been in the house when Faith came-a-knockin'. Part of the reason she eyes her so venomously... she was there when Faith threatened to murder her mom...
 
I think that Faith got a vision of Dawn, in S4, in the dream where Buffy and her are preparing for the coming of Buffy's lil sis.

So its not clear if its Faith or Buffy who had that dream. Anyway thats not the point, what Nicole was asking is how come Faith and Dawn knew each other despite never meeting, with the answer being the monks just made sure everyone who ever met Buffy, and probably a lot of people that knew them, had their memory changed.
 
The monks made it so that Dawn had always been there. So everyone Buffy once was friends with, or knew or enemies with, would atleast know she had a sister. Faith would probably have the memory of meeting her, considering she was at Buffy's house more then once in s3, and she tried to kill her mom in s4.
 
Anybody in the world that could've had contact with Dawn pre-season 5, was implanted with memories from the Monks that they would've had if she was there, including classmates, Joyce's coworkers, as well as Faith.

So what Buffy just ravaged Faith's mind and took what she wanted?

I do believe it was Faith in that dream. It was most likely some form of slayer telepathy. But it makes no sense because we see her heart in the dream, but then in Season 4, she is psychotic again. Must have been her conscience. And I think that dream This Year's Girl effed her up a bit.

And honestly, I think Faith was the Chosen One who was supposed to be assigned to Dawn. Because Buffy wasn't supposed to be there. Think about it.

It is odd to think about how in the Buffyverse, Buffy was probably the one person to have the most effect. And I'm not just talking about out of the core Scoobs or anyone seen on screen, I'm talking about everyone that ever lived in the Buffyverse.

Granted she sometimes had the help of her friends, but without her, the Master would have risen, Angel could have opened up Acothla's portal, Sunnydale High's graduating class would have been a feast for the Mayor, Adam would have gotten his army of whatever he was, Glory could have torn the interdimensional barriers and et cetera.

But who knows none of that stuff wouldn't have happened without her. Hm time for a new thread.
 
No, I don't think any of that dream happened outside of Buffy's head. Faith is already trapped in her nightmare world by now. To me, this dream is all about Guilt.

Look around in the background in that scene and you'll see the longbow Faith killed two people with. The stuff Buffy is "taking" from Faith isn't weapons, or powers, or information. IMO, Buffy is taking on some responsibility for what Faith had become. She's seeing her "ideal" Faith, what Faith could have been if things had been different. She's who Buffy wishes Faith was, rather than who she is. DreamFaith is kind, loyal and helpful (RealFaith has only ever been two of those things) , because she's stripped of all the baggage and guilt she'd normally be dragging around. Faith can't carry it anymore because she's in a coma. So Buffy takes over, and until Faith wakes up, she's the only person in the world who can be held accountable for what happened in season 3. When Dawn was created, she was put into the minds of any person that she would have contact with, Including Faith. Because well everyone had the memories of when Dawn would have been there, and they kinda changed them from past epesoids. Like in 'Faith, Hope and Tix" Faith went to the Summers house and Dawn would have been there too.
