How did River have the calm and the time to shave her legs? :)

I'm watching Firefly for the first time, so no spoilers please!

So, just a silly thing I thought about. 🙂 I just finished the third episode and I realised that we've got to see Rivers legs atleast two times - when she was in the box she arrived in and when she was wandering in her night gown in ep 3. And both times her legs were shaved.

I don't know how long she was in that box, but shouldn't she atleast have some stubble? 😀 and now, in ep 3, she's crazy most of the time, and when she's not does she really think "hey, I know! I'm going to shave my legs!" the first thing she does? Or does someone else shave them for her? Her brother? In that case - ew! 😀

Haha, I know, they're shaved because unshaven legs isn't the norm. If they were unshaved more people would react than now. It's the same on LOST. But still. Worth to think about and have some fun with. 🙂

Who shaved the legs? 😀 Is a pair of unshaved legs that provocing? Do you think if River was a man they would have made him have a beard or stubble when he came out of the box?

Hahaha!! That's so funny. You're right, it's really odd. Now I'm going to be looking at all the girls legs on The Walking Dead! 🙂 Now I think of it, has Glenn ever had any stubble???

Haha! I haven't really thought about it before either. I might be doing the same thing now! 😀 😀

It's set in the future - there's bound to have been some sort of invention that permanently removes body hair, if you so choose it. 😉

There's an ex English footballer (soccer player to some of you) called Gary Lineker who once said he'd never shaved and his face is naturally hairless. She might just be lucky.

Not only are we eating better, the meat that we're eating is now full of artificial growth hormones used to make livestock get bigger, faster
Simon probably did it for her. I don't think there's anything he wouldn't do for River. 😀

Hahaha! What a brave man. 😀

Bahahaha! Damn it, now that is all I'm gonna think about when I see River's legs!

The laser hair removal thing makes the most sense I guess.

Also, the image of Simon shaving them for her is seriously disturbing! Haha.

The simplest answer would be that, by that time, humans have very little, or even no, body hair anymore, the same way that we today aren't supposed to be as hairy as people were just a few centuries ago.

By the same token, Mal and the others may be 8 feet tall, for all we know. The average man at the beginning of World War 2 was 5' 7" tall, and today, only 70 years later, the average height is about 5' 10". At that rate of growth, Mal and the others could be virtual giants to us, but it wouldn't show, because everything is on their scale.

Ah but the average height of rich people has barely changed in that period, it's just the rest of us are eating better than we were.

Haha, love this!

Jayne is still pretty hairy though 😛

I guess it's pretty safe to say that there's no explanation that the writers came up with, because they most likely didn't think about that particular issue themselves. All we can do is speculate, so... I'm backing the high-tech hair removal theory.

Yeah, but Jayne's a special case. He's a Neanderthal throwback.

I'm with you so far, but open to other ideas too! :D

Haha I like that theory. I honestly never thought about this until now. And it's super ridiculous that none of the women on The Walking Dead have hairy legs, although to be fair I never think to look, ha. But I'm sure if they were "appropriately hairy" (as in pretty damn hairy because they haven't shaved in...what, a year?) I would have noticed 😉

This theory makes sense, but both Book and Jayne have hairy faces? I hope I get to see some male leg soon, because It might just be the legs that have evolved! 😀 Come to think about it, maybe I did see Washs legs in ep 3, when he's in bed with Zoe! I'm going back to look for hair, mihihi

Stay away from the spoiler! Come back when you're watched it al.
I guess you need to take a close look when Mal's naked.
