How did they explain Wesley's presence ?

I always wondered even though it was never dealt with on screen. How was Wesley's sudden presence in the library explained to the 'outside world/ sunnydale high. One day he was suddenly there. As the council's man for the scoobies, but what was his function to others? Assistant librarian or something? (was he even a librarian?) I can only imagine people wondering about 'that new guy in the library' all of a sudden. Not to mention nosy Snyder.

.....Then again, it was also never questioned why those teens hang out with Giles so much . Especially those teen girls.... This days and age he would have gotten into trouble. Or would have faced some questions at the very least 😛

I guess people are good at just ignoring the weird in Sunnydale. (And Wesley turning up out of nowhere was certainly weird. 😛 )

I've thought of that, too. Though back then, security at schools was pretty non-existent, whereas today he would have to go directly to the office to get a visitors pass. 😉

No one goes to the library anyway, so his presence wasn't questioned. Shrugs. And Giles is the librarian, and they so happen to hang out at the library where he works, so it isn't so much hanging out with him.

I guess everyone looked at him, thinking he was a new teacher. And to be honest, who wants to make contact with new teachers (as student).But good question. I also agree a lot with drizzlydaze and ashleigh.

It is true that no one used the library. Probably because most of the books were about demons etc. 😉

I think the only two people I actually remember using the library are Owen and Jonathan.

Its the same with Gwendolyn Post, even though that was only one episode, she showed up at the library and used it as if she worked there.

Perhaps most people just assume they work there but they never noticed them, and Snyder is too scared of Giles to say/do anything. 😀

Visitors passes did not exist at Sunnydale High apparently...haha. Faith came in all the time unnoticed, Wesley, Kendra, that one vampire who set herself on fire, you'd think that after all the weird ass occurrences they'd develop some sort of policy. Maybe they did have to get one, I mean we aren't shown everything that happens in their world, on screen. It would get beyond redundant if they showed every new person getting one.

I've always wondered about this too and it has always bugged me. I mean, suddenly there's this dapper English guy there hanging out with the teens? Surely someone should have noticed... Giles at least worked there, so if he was with the Scoobies one could rationalize it away if you only noticed it at times, but a whole new grown-up at the school... seems like someone would notice and wonder...
