How Did You Get Into Buffy?

I must confess. During the early seasons of Buffy, I was one of those pedantic snobs that felt too sophisticated to be watching a series called Buffy the Vampire Slayer...then Angel came out.

It seemed acceptable to watch a show called Angel. I loved it. The problem was there were all these references to Buffy I didn't understand. I started watching Buffy out of the corner of my eye in Season 6, telling myself it was so I could understand Angel better. It wasn't too long before I knew exactly what day and time Buffy the Vampire slayer was on. By the time they got into the Willow goes witchy arc at the end of Season 6, I was wired.

I've been a Buffaholic ever since.

Anyone else got a story.

I was bored late at night and Buffy was on at midnight. I saw the second half of an episode( I can't remember which one!) and I loved it. I made a point of sitting my husband( then he was my boyfriend) down and "forcing"him to watch an episode. It was the episode where the kids get possessed by jackels and eat the principal. I think it was called "The Pack". Anyhow... by the end we were both hooked and we've seen every episode since. So i've been a fan since season 1.

i only started watching buffy for real in season 6....i've always liked angel....ever since the first ep...

I had always wanted to watch buffy. My sister and her friends often watched it, but my stupid mom said i was too young. She said the monsters would scare me (for some reason when we went to Italy i could watch it). One night Gilmore Girls was a repeat so i asked if I could watch buffy and she said sure. I was overjoyed. That happend midway through last year. I think it was the episode Gone. Before that i had watched a few buffy episodes without my mom knowing. I start watching angel over last summer. I am now a Buffy fanatic and have seen ever episode, but one (they skipped it on fx it's not my falt).

My sister was a fan of Buffy (not anymore) and she said the best episode was on, so I gave it a try. It was "Hush" and way too scary. I tried again with "Real Me" and I loved it.

I was flicking through the channel and i came across Sky One and there was a show on and Angel must of been on and i thought he was hot so i carried on watching it and it ended with Buffy killing Angel and i was like oh.bye.fit.guy(lol)and it ended with her leaving. then i found out that it was Becoming Pt2 the finale...and i carried on watchin it and it came onto S3 cause i really wanted to see Angel back and he came back so the main reason i watched it was cause of Angel(mmm)and ever since Becoming Pt2 has been my fav eposide EVER!

Buffy (Season 1) was a replacement for Friends in Australia in non-ratings time and my mum and I thought that it sounded like a bit of a laugh so we watched it. Then we actually started to have our 'Buffy nights' each week, we would make sure we had eaten dinner, gotten everything done that needed to be done, jumped into our comfy clothes and watched Buffy undisturbed.

My obsession started after seeing the episode Whats my Line Part 2, when Buffy and a vamped Angel kiss on the ice rink, just thinking of that gives me shivers.

I was reading an article reviewing shows and mentioning new ones on the slate, I think it was in EW but that was so long ago.
I decided to watch the 1st episode but missed it because something came up, I missed the 2nd one as well but luckily I got to see the 3rd one and from that point forward I have watched ever since.

I was flicking through the channels and saw Buffy on. Nothing else better was on so I watched it. Wasn't really gripped untill Angel came on. I really liked what I saw (in a non-sexual way) so I watched to learn more about him. When he left I stoped watching. Now fast-forward to 2002 and Channel 4 started showing Angel season 2. I watched it because I rememberd how much I liked Angel on Buffy and before I knew it I was hooked. I'm not a regular viewer of Buffy. I watch it if I'm flicking through. But I LOVE Angel (the show, not the person).

I have been a fan from the start, I have always been into vampires, witches all that sort of stuff and dare I say it I watched the movie the one with Luke Perry, it was lame but mildly amusing not long after that I heard Joss was going to make a series about her, I've been hooked ever since of both Buffy and Angel. I can barely believe seven years of Buffy is coming to a close, lets hope Angel runs the same!!

I watched it from the first episode, I just moved to the states and I had nothing to watch so I turned to the wb, buffy was on it looked intresting and so my parents let me stay up to watch it and well from then on I was addicted and proud of it

First just saw a advert on the TV for the first season watched some of it and thought it was a load of crap!!!

Than saw lot more then got into it season 5 now i love it and cant belive i hated it in Season1!!!

my brother was watching it one night and i sat down on his lap and watched it with him i was 11 but i had seen it once when it first came out and i didn't like it at all. But when me and my brother watched it i started to love the show. Then me and him got our mom into it so its a family thing. the only thing we all had in common besides angel.

I never gave it a chance, really, I thought it was a stupid concept (having seen the film). Randomly one night, I saw the episode in which a Halloween shop owner cast a spell and made everyone assume their costumes' persona (Xander became a soldier, Buffy a helpless wench, Willow a ghost, etc.). I gave it a shot, and really enjoyed it. The dialogue was what roped me in. Everything was so well-written, so snappy, the interaction between characters was great, and I started devouring anything Buffy from that point on. I had to learn more about the characters. It's a comic book fanboy thing.

I remember I was on vacation somewhere the night the very first Buffy episode was on and my mom was watching it. She later told me to watch it with her since I couldnm't sleep. Keep in mind I was in second grade and it used to start at 9. I watched it off and on when I got the chance, but I didn't really start to get hooked before it changed the timeslot to 8. I became a full-fledged fan after Surprise and Innocence. Though it was so many years ago, and I was young, I still remember it. 😀

I got hooked on the promos the local TV station began running when the show first started with Season One.

So I made my fiance (now husband) watch the very first episode with me.

Well ever since that first night, we have our weekly tuesday 'date' with take-out food and wine. We also watched Angel faithfully from Season One as well.

I'm so glad Angel is continuing, I wouldn't know what to do with myself on Tuesday nights!

I know what you mean in England it's Thursday night but I really don't know what I would do if I didn't have Angel to watch!!! And redslayer you are so lucky my husband hates it and thinks I am completley sad!! Especially as I am going to meet David Boreanez in August in Brighton!! Honestly he thinks I have lost control!!

ARGH you are meeting David, you are so lucky! 🙂

Well as far as my hubby goes...let's just say he wouldn't BE my hubby if he didn't love Buffy/Angel! KIDDING!

He loves how excited i get when it comes on..and he thought it was touching when I cried during the Buffy finale. I am truly lucky!

However we might have a problem if he knew I was thinking of getting on the next plane to England! Mmmm..David... 🙂
