How Does Anya Afford her Lifestyle?

basic question on Anya

I'm not all that new, but I just watched season 5 and this is bugging me so much.

How does Anya pay for stuff? She has an appartment and nice clothes...did her becoming human come with an room and board alloance? Is this ever explained?

Now, about your question, are we talking pre or post season 5. Because if you mean Season 5, she worked at the Magic Box. Before that is a complete mystery to me 😉
 
During Season 4 didn't she have a really nice apartment?

Hm, maybe when she went to Cordelia as a fellow spoiled teenager she somehow altered reality making herself a rich person.

I know thats far fetched, but Haley(sp?) was able to fool everyone into thinking she was a guidance counselor... so reality manipulation? Hm, I dunno.
 
I've thought of this before too and I've kind of assumed that being an immortal she had accumulated some wealth over time. We see her dining with Helfrec in palatial surrounds after creating havok in Russia in Selfless. It's not too hard to imagine her picking up some nice jewellry or taking the silverware in these situations to fund her time off from being a vengence demon, if she took any.

Another thought is she needs nice clothes etc. in order to appear to the scorned women whom she attains vengence for, er on behalf of... whatever. Much like she appeared first to Cordy as a fellow rich schoolgirl, she must come to these women as someone who they'd confide in. If she were to just show up all vieny and vengence-demony then they'd probably run the other way. Hence, she'd have a pretty decent wardrobe and perhaps some additional funds for accommodation. I can just see all these vengence demons going around with "company" visa cards, bringing all their receipts back to D'hoffrin(sp?). Maybe that's why she was so good at the accounts for The Magic Box. She'd been cooking her own books for D'hoffrin for a thousand years, skimming a little off the top.
 
Its kind of the same with most characters...

How does Buffy wear something new every episode? And, in Season 6, she's supposed to be broke to the bone...but she still manages to...have loads of nice stuff, lol...

But I agree with Tuckers Cousin about her becoming wealthy over an immortal life-time, lol...
 
Well she did steal a lot of money in "Him" so she could of done it before. Towards the end of S4 ("Where the Wild Things Are") she did talk about her lack of money so she at least acknowledged it. Maybe one of her vengence spells resulted in the death of someone and she just took over their place.
 
I suposed being a demon and being worshipped helped.

But in her first episode The Wish, she became instantly popular becase her Dad bought a new utility. So she had parents. Maybe she mind altered them and now still has parents who paid for her apartment.
