You Can Call Me Ash
Call it a random wild thought I had recently but I was thinking; Future Ted never referes to the 'mother' as his wife....does he?
He did in a recent episode with a future flashforward (or technically, less of a flashback) say "Wheres my wife?" but that was set in 2027 I believe (whereas Future Ted is 2030) and it could be either a hint of a future breakup, or a kind of ironic able-to-joke-about-it-now statement.
Carter and Bays said season three Ted is showing the stage in his life where he will become cynical, and maybe the "mother" leaving him would be the final nail in the coffin?
Blame the non-romantist in me but I'd like it if in the last episode it was revealed who the mother was, but also that it didn't work out (although I'll admit, thats a bit gloomy for a tv sitcom).
