Anyone catch HIMYM last night? The evil old lady with the penis monster that comes out her head was on the plane talking to Lily. Was really wierd to see Alyson talking to her considering last time she was chopping off her head!

well its on in America.. not the UK, sorry if I teased you with that. I happen to just be a media thief who <shock horror> downloads everything
 
I always wonder id reguar's on a show recognise the people they worked with in an episode, cuz they work with so many.

Like if it was me, I be right up there, like "Hi how are you, my names..."

And she'd be like we've worked together.

really? great. Its one of the more entertaining shows on TV at moment.

Im pretty sure its not a real costly production but it often has me watching it before Heroes/Smallville or others. If they keep it up, I can see the show lasting a long time... limited only by how long the cast members want to do it.

Probably not a fortune, but I imagine NPH & Alyson get nice salaries, and Radnor (Ted) must make even more.

I agree, I'd say I laugh at HIMYM more than any other current sitcom.

And yeah, they're syndication deal requires them to shoot at least one more season. I believe the Producers have said that they hope to make a total of 8, but what they want doesn't necessarily line up with what the network and actors want.

well i can see at least 8. I mean the only competitor in the sitcom area is The Office, and considering it isnt even a sitcom, I think it has its time slot all to itself.

HIMYM i think is still better but as far as future prospects and where the show can grow, more than ever im tuning into HIMYM to see whats happening...

The Office is without a doubt the best sitcom/comedy/docucomedy around but i dont see the same future as i do with HIMYM.

The last couple of seasons of The Office have been almost unwatchable, in my opinion. It's a shame because seasons 1 and 2 had me in hysterics almost every episode.
I hope this show lasts even longer than just 8 seasons. Here in non-English Europe the show is still relatively unknown, for example I know it just started in Germany and the Netherlands rather recently (and at least in German a lot of the humour is lost...not in Dutch though, cos they only sub), but every single person I have introduced to the show has loved it. Seriously, it's crazy how fast people fall in love with it. If it stays this way I think we'll soon have an avalanche of new viewers and the show can claim the popularity it deserves.
 
Well Two and a half Men is the major sitcom, but since both air on the same network they have a symbiotic relationship.

I think the producers said that they want to end in S8 because they have the whole show planned out for the most part and the mother reveal is in S8.
