How I Met Your Mother s4

Could it be Stella's sister, Nora?
Nothings impossible. But if it is her that means Stella is their real aunt (compared to Robin and Lily that are also called aunts) which means they would probably have recognized her when Ted told the story about meeting her. But maybe it's just my brain not being fully awake yet.

So what was everyone thinking about the season finale? So far I'm really confused, as I've heard people praise it and other people say it was such a boring episode, and simply horrible considering it's the season finale. What are your thoughts?

I thought they gave us something reasonable to work with. The last scene was finally getting the plot somewhere, the Robin/Barney story was dealt with to some extend, Lily was back...what more did people want?

I want Robin and Barney to be madly in love and have many happy children! (sw)

The last scene was good.

Also, I was sad when Lily wasn't actually pregnant. But I love how they were trying to hide Aly and Cobie's pregnancies. Made me laugh. 😉

Can't wait for next season! 😀

I'm not sure how far back everyone is, but because spoilers can be announced here - Stella is not the mom. Was anyone else super disappointed in this season?
It may be the lack of Lily & Robin, but seriously...it was by far the least decent of all the four seasons. Agree - Disagree?

I think it's the lack of Lily and Robin. But still... it just didn't have as much good stuff...
I wasn't super-disappointed since I still enjoyed this season, but yeah, it was probably the least, in terms of quality. It had a better balance of heart and fun earlier on...

re: Stella
I didn't think it was too surprising or disappointing, since it seemed doomed early on. I like Sarah Chalke, but Stella didn't the kind of--let's just say Robin has better chemistry with Ted, and she definitely isn't the mother. While not my pick, I'd say Victoria is the only contender in terms of g/f's Ted's had.

re: Finale
I liked it, but it was nowhere near the one that ended on Barney's "Wait for it..!" That one left you dying to see what comes next.

I also was surprised that Ted called himself "Professor Mosby" since he doesn't have a doctorate and I believe that the Professor title is only used in the US for people who are doctors.

Totally! This was more (if we're going in terms of Buffy) of a season 3 end that felt like it could've also been a conclusion, where as HIMYM S2 Finale, was a season 2 Buffy finale (or possibly season 6 depending on Spuffy or Bangel fan).

As for the Professor thing...no clue. Could just be a fun thing he is called anyways that might be explained in season 5 (which I kinda hope is better, or is the last season...if the material isn't there, quit reaching)

Definitely didn't enjoy Season 4 as much as the others. This season didn't have as many genuine laughs, and good time moments. It seemed to be rather depressing. I missed the girls a lot. And I really hated the way they were trying to desperately to cover up the girls being pregnant.

I'm hoping that they bring on Season 5 with an entire new upbeat attitude.

Does anyone know how long they're planning on dragging HIMYM out for?

8 seasons, as far as I've heard. Which would mean another 4 seasons.

That's insane. Just stop if you don't have the material. Supernatural was announced by Jared and Jensen on twitter they're doing one final season because it makes sense then it's done. integrity goes a long way for a series.

I don't think HIMYM has run out of material at all, I think they just made a few mistakes (some out of their control).

Firstly, Robin & Lily having extremely reduced roles really hurt the show, as Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld said, only idiots think that you can run a show without a female lead (they were referring to themselves, since they didn't write Elaine into Seinfeld until after the pilot).

Then, I think they gave Barney too big a role. Don't get me wrong, Barney's by far my FAVORITE character, but since his breakout status and Emmy recognition, they've mistakenly kinda made him the star.

Like some of my friends and I joke, Ted's become the least interesting character this season. Ted needs to be the star again, Robin & Lily need to balance out the cast again, and Barney needs to be the cool supporting role that he was for the first three seasons.

That's it, the show's great again if that happened. I might even experiment with bringing Victoria back as an obstacle between Ted and his future wife. I thought Victoria had far better chemistry with Ted than Stella or Robin.

A new concept I might explore would be Marshall & Lily drifting apart, because we know their marriage eventually becomes pretty cold...

Overall, I thought it was a good season. My favorite one was the first season because of Lily's sexy red hair, but the others still have been good. The only thing that I was annoyed with was the fact that the last four episodes where mostly Lilyless. I understand why, but still. Lily is my favorite character, I loved when she yelled at Marshall being to hard on the kids that was so funny 😀. Lily rocks! I <3 Alyson Hannigan.

Anyway, I figured Stella wasn't the mother when I found out she had a daughter of her own. Ted has never mention that he had a step daughter or anything, so I eliminated her off the list. I loved Marshall trying to make the leap for SO long that was so funny, and "pulling a Mosby" that was to funny.

It didn't seem the same without Lily, they should have found another way round it.
Over here they don't have the DVDs yet at all 🙁 Well, in Germany they got s1 available, but it's still kinda expensive and it's only s1. For a year I've been waiting for the DVD to be brought out in the Netherlands (at least one season!), but so far I've never seen it anywhere. I don't really get why, since they also show it on TV there.
As soon as they have it here, I'll buy the DVDs!

You should get a region free dvd player so you can buy the american boxsets and watch.
I've just read the episode summaries of the first few episodes of season 5, I'm really looking forward to HIMYM returning now, if the episodes are anything like how the episode describes them they should be LEGENDARY

Where did you find the descriptions?
I really can't wait to find out what happens between Barney and Robin!

Wow! Thanks for sharing that with us, DayVBayB. The episode summaries look really awesome!! Can't wait for season 5 to begin! By the way, is the air date still set to September the 21st?

Regarding the forth season, while it wasn't really my favourite, it does have some pretty awesome episodes. "Intervention", "The Naked man", "Woooo!" are some of my favourites of the season. ::evil2::

I also looked on Wikipedia for the episode list, and it had three episode summaries (not full synopsis). Apparently Robin and Barney are dating by episode three.
But who knows how accurate Wikipedia actually is.
