So since no one else started a thread here it is. HIMYM is no longer my favourite sitcom on tv but it still has it's moments and with things back to "normal" it looks promising judging by the last episode. And I don't know why but I really loved the "You son of a bitch" done with an accent.

I know some people wanted to see Barney and Robin together but there can't be any denial that Barney is much more fun when he's single right? But as it often is in TV-land the interaction/chemistry between two characters before the get together is great but once they get together something is missing. But I wouldn't totally rule it out that they get together in the end.
 
I must say I love this show. It's not my number one, number one in my heart will always be Buffy, but it's in the first five, right after Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. I like Barney and Robin together, but I do like Barney more when he is single, that way he is more awesome 😀
In this episode Marshall and Ted were really good 😀 And I loved "You son of a bitch" with an accent too 😀 and I still have this tendency to call Lily Willow 😀
 
Well the thing was, it was funny to see Robin and Barney together. Like, the episode where Barney took the course on Robin, the episode where he taught her to be American...the Robin and Barney scenes were really the highlight of the season so far!


I am looking forward to the episode where
the whole gang picks up smoking
. I already told my friends with whom I watch the show, and they are also looking forward to it...I guess it's because we can relate.
 
Yeah Season 5 is really doing nothing for me, I watched up to the Robin becomes American episode and then just haven't followed it anymore.

Robin and Barnacle just are not good together as a comedic force for instance. Lily also I think they don't know what to DO with her character, she's just not as funny as in previous season.

So I found myself enjoying only Ted and Marshall and sometimes Barney, which is not enough for me!

It's really to bad I did enjoy the show.
 
I'm actually really glad they broke Barney and Robin up again. I've always loved them as bros and had my doubts whether they worked as a romantic couple. I enjoyed them in one or two episodes as a couple but they just seemed a little off to me. Take the episode where Barney and Marshall go to a strip club for instance - Robin's behaving entirely out of character. If the writers have to do that to make the couple believable they're better off separated. I for one, am glad they're back to being bros again.

I agree that HIMYM is not as funny as it used to be but it's still way better than every other sitcom I've ever seen (the exception probably being The Nanny). HIMYM is the first time in years I've actually been laughing with the laugh track.

I'm also looking forward to the episode's Kristine's mentioned and [HASHTAG]#100[/HASHTAG] 🙂

Right now I'm liking The big bang theory more than HIMYM. But in the beginning it was the other way around. For the moment Sheldon is better than Barney and that makes the difference. But since Barney now might be back to normal it can be a good fight. Sheldon wasn't this good in the beginning. Or I just needed time to get used to him. 😛

I am in love with Sheldon. He is a comlete delight. Big Bang Theory is definitely one of my favorite shows right now as well. HIMYM is like the 2000 version of Friends for me and it works. I say keep the funny coming. I would also like to say that Two and a Half Men has gotten better recently as well. For a while I had given up on the show but lately it has been really funny.

Huh, funny. For me it is almost exactly the other way around. I can't bring myself to like the third season of TBBT, suddenly it just feels terribly forced to me. The last episode in particular was terrible.

"Double Date" and The Playbook have been two standout great episodes of Season Five for me.

I think everyone agrees on that. Heck, The Rough Patch was pretty much about them being boring together. That said, I hope they wind up together when the show ends.

I disagree. She was underutilized for a while at Alyson's request since she and Alexis had a baby in real life. Lily's back now though, as important as ever. To me, she's the "rational" character, so I don't think she's as in-your-face funny.

HIMYM is still my favourite sitcom and i have loved every moment of season 5 but i have to agree that the accent on 'you son of a bitch' was sooooooo funny. I didn't really want Barney and Robin together, Barney just wasn't Barney when he was with her but glad he is back to his normal self now that he is single again lol.
 
It's still my favorite sitcom. I have to tell the truth. I haven't seen a new episode since Robin 101.
I have the other seasons on DVD, but I've been slacking lately. FML
 
Really? It's not the first time I hear people have been slacking on the new episodes...

I usually can't wait to see the new episode, I get up early in order to get to watch it before I have to go to class that day!
But I did watch some s2 yesterday wit my housemates, and there is a difference to the episodes now. The new episodes are really funny, but they're sort of missing that storytelling aspect of Ted, if you know what I mean. Now it's somehow getting more like Friends, where you have funny storylines, but no real greater picture.
 
Actually think that season 5 has been slightly better than most of season 4 so far.
Having the old, classic, Barney back feels good though. Relationship Barney just wasn't quite as funny.

The end of "The Rough Patch" was epic, even though you could see it coming it was still awesome to see Barney entering the bar, suited up. 🙂

Last episode was also great, a typical HIMYM episode.

The latest episode, Slapsgiving II, besides having Barney's 4th slap also featured the return of Dark Willow! Sort of. Alyson's character Lily was shown giving people her "you're dead to me look," and she looked almost like Dark Willow with glowing eyes instead of black eyes, and wind blowing through her hair.
 
Oh yes, I really liked the touch of Dark Willow in this ep!

Uhhh, and the end was so much fun, with the slap bet game for children :lmao:

Oh, and 1 slap is still left now! I hope they do something grand with that one in the future.




Also, completely different episode (but also 5th season)...in the 2nd episode it was mentioned the gang would ran into the remaining two doppelgangers by the end of that year Any theories for that? I was saying to my friends the other day, wouldn't it be hilarious if doppelgang Barney and doppelgang Ted were like a gay couple? :lmao:
