How is Faith overrated?

I don't find Faith to be overrated at all. I thought her character arc was one of the best in the whole series, and it was really interesting to watch the progression of the character. She actually made an attempt to atone for what she did, and didn't have the whole soul cop-out like Angel (as much as I love him) and Spike did.

So let me get this straight - you think she's better than Angel and Spike because she did have a soul when she murdered people? Uh... Okay...

I didn't say that. I said that it made her character arc interesting for me because she did those horrible things while human, and came back from it. I said nothing about it making her "better".

What I meant was that the accepted reason Angel and Spike did the things they did was that they didn't have souls. It's just that, no other reason really. Faith, on the other hand, has a soul and should have known what she was doing was wrong, but for whatever reason, she didn't, or at least, didn't care. That's what I find interesting. Why was she this way? What happened to her in her past to screw her up so badly that she would just snap like that? And then her realisation that she had done awful things, and was indeed wrong in doing them, and trying to come to terms with it. That's why the character is so compelling for me. Hope that clears things up.
