How is our new host?

I agree, although i did get a database error or something like that a few nights ago. But once I refreshed the page it seemed to be working just fine 🙂
 
To be honest I haven't noticed much difference.
But I guess that's good since I didn't really experience any problem before either...

Actually, now that I think about it everything's been loading on my mobile licketty-split. And I haven't run into any issues while on my laptop, either. So it gets a vote of awesome from me 🙂
 
I have noticed it takes a lot less time to load on my phone, and I haven't been getting as many errors or seeing duplicate posts all over the place, so it seems to be working out well. 😀
 
It's all good. Some threads, though, don't have the lay-out or colors. It's very HTML-y, if that makes sense. Basic, no BB layout. I notice it mostly with Bronze topics.
 
It has cut the instance of slow loading way down, but it still happens a few times a week.

Noticed that too, but only when I read threads while not logged in. In that case, I almost always get the Bronze threads "naked" like that.
 
Seems to be running well. There are occasional slowdowns, which always happens.

Is the board running on a VPS, or a dedicated server?
 
I can't say I've noticed much of a difference, I don't think this site was ever that slow (compared to other forums I go on anyway).
 
I get less errors and while I haven't noticed pages as such loading faster, I do get way less timeouts. (Could be that has to do with my internet connection though). I'm happy.

Neither. Still shared.

That's nothing to do with the host. I wish someone would have said something before. I'm looking into it.

That should be fixed now.
 
It really is faster and much more reliable then before but I miss the drop down box Cait mentioned, it made browsing on iOS so much faster. What features can (not necessarily should) be disabled to decrease server load?
 
Guys, the drop down is entirely a separate topic, so let's focus here on how things are running as opposed to two or three weeks ago.

Anything not standard out of the box vbulletin will add something to server load, some things more than others. Everything adding a high load and not essential was removed when we were on the last host.

It has been running great for me on mobile. It is loading as fast as my network will allow anything to load. 🙂
