How long did you lurk for????

Something that just crossed my mind. How long did you check out the boards for before you became a member? And how long did you lurk for before you really got up to speed with posting!

I think I must have scanned the board for all of about 3 minutes before joining, and maybe lurked for 10 minutes before posting. I've lurked a lot more since then though (mainly 'cos I rarely have time to post, let alone read all the new threads!)

It always amazes me how people build up huge post counts so quickly, and yet always seem to have something good to say. Maybe I was just born a watcher....

I didn't have an internet connection when I first found BB so I was lurking at a friend's house. I thought there was no point registering yet, but as soon as I got my connection I was here. I think it was about 2 months between me finding BB and finally joining, and becoming slightly less of a lurker. Although I am still a creepy lurker a lot of the time. (sw)

If I did not like hearing myself talk as much as I do, I would lurk more often. I think I lurked for all of three minutes before I joined and immediately (I believe) posted after joining.

I think I lurked for about a month before I joined, and even now I'm not really a prolific poster - only just over 120 posts in six months. I should post more... ^_^

I remember (waaayyyy back when I first joined) there wasn't such a mad rush to post, adoptions used to take time (imagine that!) and people often 'lurked' rather than posting all the time, or at least that's how it seemed
so I still tend to lurk a lot, purely because you all seem to create such wonderful discussions without me, or so much I disagree with is said that makes me so frustrated that I can't bear to comment 😉
so all in all I probably lurked for 2 months before joining, then about another month or so before first posting 😀

I don't think I so much lurked, as trawled the boards for info about Season 8. This was way back when it was just announced, and I had come across the boards looking for info. I think I joined quite quickly after that, but I didn't really post much. I like to get a feel for a place first, so I suppose I did lurk a bit. Then I left for a year, and I can't remember why. Then I came back and *boom*.

I've been a member since I first found BB, but I've only really began posting in August 2008 (2-3 months later) - okay, I guess it's not really true that I ever "really began" posting as 70 posts in 5 months is not really a lot. I guess I should post more often, but I always end spending more time reading what everyone else is writing. Plus, I'm not nearly as insightful as many people here, so often I feel I haven't really anything clever to add to a discussion. 😛

About 20 seconds I think. I had literally been searching for months for an active Buffy forum. When I found BB I was relieved and excited but I didn't know then what I was getting myself into lol.

Having registered it took me awhile to figure out how to navigate the place properly so it was maybe 10 minutes before I posted. I joined with someone, who at the time, was a really close on line friend. I think she posted like three times and that was it. Myself, I couldn't get enough of the place, clearly lol. I haven't spoken to her in months, it's strange how things change. To two of us had been talking so long about frinding a forum and when we did she just disappeared. I'd forgotten about her till you mentioned this. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose.

Maybe for like 10 seconds. Well, I was ecplicitly googlinf for a Buffy forum and this thing was the first thing that popped up. Maybe I should add I'm not too hesitant ever with registering anywhere (often I register wayyy too fast), so it's not really that surprising, but I was like 'kay, good enough' and joined. And about 2 minutes later I had my own first thread 😀
This makes me sound like a forum slut or something, I just realized, lol. Well, there's only one other forum where I have the postcount I have here (last weeek it was EXACTLY the same, lol), friendscafe, if anyone knows it, but there I don't even post that much anymore. I registered in 2003 when it was still cool there but now I post in the foreign language subforums and off-topic things at best, since the rest now really sucks (all posts in categories like our 'inside out' or the seasons have to be checked by moderators first before submitting...so you can imagine what a drag it is to post there).

I was lurking for a few days before I slapped myself and registered! I often lurk on boards but I decided I need get rid of my evil ways and I'm very glad I did, I love the boards.

I didn't really lurk at all, thanks to Cangel. She sort of forced m into registering strait away. Bu since, I have often a couple of lurking days. Partly ebcause I usually haven't much senisble to say but also because I really enjoy reading what you all post. There are always some interesting discussions going on here, that I don't really have anything to add to, because everyone else already said interesting stuff or introduced new points of view and everything. So hence my not so extremely high post count 😉

Uhm, I was kinda forced here, so there wasn't that much of time to lurk. Cangel kept tellingh me to register and then one day I had a look and I tried to see what my housemates were up to here, so I tried to search for them, but to search I had to be registered so I registered and that's how i got hooked here. However, for most pf the topics I'm more of a lurker and watcher than a poster. But well, I also spam alot, soooo. I dunno.

Think that I registered pretty soon because I was looking for an active Buffy forum.
Probably took me a few days before first post though. I usual check things out first, to see if it's a friendly board, before I start posting.

I don't think that I ever actually "lurked" around here. I was actually just looking to see if the old Official Buffy Forum was still active, and I stumbled in here. I've been stumbling in here ever since.
