Hi!
Sorry for my English, it is bad. I hope you understand me.
Tell me, how much is planned seasons of Buffy? How many comics (seasons) will be released?
And what age now (10 season) Buffy and Xander, Willow? Somewhere in 25-26 years?

They're on Season 10 at the moment and I've not heard anything about it being the finale so I would say at least one more. Probably depends on the level of interest.

They deliberately try to keep the dates and ages blurry in the comics because of the format. I think the best estimate has them in their late 20's now.

Thanks for the answer!

Yeah, I suspect poor old Buffy's going to be like Maggie Simpson and stay looking the same age forever. 😀

I would say, as long as the comics continue to sell at a reasonable profit, Dark Horse will continue to publish them. How long that they continue to be considered canon, i.e., how long Joss will remain involved with the story line is another story entirely. My guess would be a minimum of another 2 to 3 Seasons. Beyond that, it's all guess and conjecture.

I think they need to reintroduce time as more of a factor somehow. It was always an important part of the show. Much as we all enjoyed particular stages of the characters lives you didn't want them to last forever.

Victor Gischler (the current writer of Angel & Faith) just made an offhand reference to "season 11" in a Q&A, so we know at this moment they're not planning to end it at season 10.

I want to see season 11 because it will be a good opportunity for Joss to get back to writing some Buffy after his long Marvel adventure.

Oh god I wouldn't get your hopes up If I were you. Whedon will be after 'proper' work not spending time on a creative dead end like the comics.

He's done Buffy and personally I think he's over it.

Honestly, the less is Whedon involved in the comics the better they seem to get. So yeah, I do not want him back on Buffy.

Joss has said on several occasions that he wasn't finished with Buffy, but I honestly think that, if he ever does return to the Buffyverse, it will be focused on a new group of characters, rather than the old ones. He may return to the original series just long enough to get everyone embroiled in an obviously untenable situation, then leave the whole thing hanging that way, because he's an evil little troll who tales obscene pleasure in screwing with his fans, and absolutely refuses to write a "happily ever after" story. Any long term future involvement will almost be in either a "Next Generation" type format, or focus on Slayers in the past.
