The first time he learned about vampires, his friend Jesse gets kidnapped, and turned into a vampire. "I don't like vampires." A very rough start with the bloodsuckers that shaped Xander's views on vampires in a bad way, it didn't help that Buffy, the girl Xander's in love with, fell for a vampire, which doubled the hate. Vampires can't be trusted, especially the soulless ones, check what Giles had told Xander about vampires, I don't think Xander ever forgot.

NICE artwork!!!
I agree with you. And that explains a lot to me now that I think about it. I always hated it when Xander was too stubborn (see Becoming part 1) when it came to Angel...

And he was also like that towards Spike through out later seasons...although i guess his thing for buffy was a big part of it also....

Hmm. It must have affected Willow, too. In fact, that would explain why she wanted to help so much in Buffy's fight against evil. To make sure this never happened again. And then, this urge to help and regain her power may have led to her dabbling in magic, which led to a whole bunch of other stuff.
Interesting. I always hated how Jesse was never mentioned again, but his death probably did affect the whole series indirectly.

I think he disliked Spike for who he was: a soulless vampire, and because Spike can be annoying and rude sometimes 😀 I mean, he's such an ill-mannered vampire, especially around Xander. I really don't think Buffy had anything to do with why Xander disliked Spike.

Now, with Angel, yes, Buffy had everything to do with why Xander disliked Angel.

He didn't really dwell on it after the first few episodes, so I don't think it affected him as a person all that much, but I think it really did make him biased to believe all vampires were bad; kind of like Holtz in Angel S3, only with less of an avenging attitude.

I think his death had an effect on Xander and of course Buffy's love for Angel didn't help. 🙁
I love the third signature banner and the third avatar by the way, they are amazing.
🙂

I love those avs and banners! Very good work! 🙂
I hated that Jesse's death was never mentioned again... It was like "This guy is my best friend and now he's dead... Hey wanna go party at the Bronze?" LOL But yeah, I think it definitely effected the show's direction.

Nice icons and banners!!

I agree with you. It's no secret that Xander hates vampires. I imagine Jesse's death affected him more than he let on. Jesse was a good friend od his, right? It would make sense he would always hold resentment towards them.

Xander, out of the whole gang, always had the hardest time with the idea that there could be "good" vampires. I think Xander always saw things as black and white in that area - vampires/demons = bad. Always. This is why he never accepted Spike - he just learned to deal with his presence.
