Out of interest, how much do you use social media these days?

What do you use it for mainly?

What are your top 3 in order? )unless you only use 1 lol, in which case say which one 😛

For me I use it everyday. Why? To keep up with friends and family and to communicate to them as well as watch what they are up to, updates on health and kids, oh and to relieve boredom lol (being honest here)!!

I use Twitter a lot, WhatsApp regularly and Instagram sometimes. I love the succinctness of Twitter and the lack of those life-affirming inspirational quotes, which I cannot bear.

I like WhatsApp to communicate with friends, and I check Instagram now and again, though I don't post much.
 
Only use Facebook....and that has only been for the last few months.
I mainly use it for communication (as the phone signal is really cr*p around here).....

I do look at one or two peoples Twitter/Instagram stuff (Just to keep up on the news) but don't have an account myself........
 
I get Facebook messages from several people, mostly family and a couple of old college friends, and nothing else. I almost never do much more than read what they send and occasionally make a short comment. Other than that, nothing.
 
I use it too much, mostly as I'm wasting time, often at work! I'll have it open at home a lot but I can be away doing other things. However I know I use it too much it's one of the reasons I'm doing a no tech day soon. A day just to come away from all the media to get away from the constant input and to just unwind and realise exactly how much of my time I'm wasting on social media and screens in general. I know I use it to waste time, but there are better ways to waste it than looking at stupid quizzes or other random posts!
 
I don't use social media as much now as I have in the past. I post crap on Facebook now and then, mostly photos. Facebook is a bit of a turn off these days, especially with the hysteria involved in American politics. I find myself hating the majority of my friends on there (except you peeps).

I used to be on Twitter a lot too. Now I hardly check it or post anything. I talk to friends now and then on there, that's it really.

Instagram I use pretty much exclusively to look at photos of @Taake's dog, lawl. I'm a creep, I'm a weirdooooooo.

I only check those sites because of the 5% of friends I actually care about and want to keep up with. Most used social media I guess would be here, Buffy-Boards. Forums for the most part are much less rage inducing. And the anonymity is also a positive. I've met some amazing people here over the (nine?!) years.

Ooh, wait. I use livejournal a lot too. But that's mostly art-related stuff. Icon communities and such. Livejournal people are also pretty nice. Lots of similarities in how I feel about forums. I like livejournal's set up and how it looks and works, same as here.
 
@GwenRaiden I've either unfriended or unfollowed so many people on Facebook in the last few months because of all the politics stuff. I feel so much better afterwards no seeing all of their posts, my timeline is a much happier place now!
 
The only social media I still use is Instagram for my exciting photos of knitted socks. Being on BB for so many years means I have a lot of online friends who I like to keep up with (@Taake's dog!) . I couldn't ever go back to Facebook and Twitter though. Bad experiences.

It's actually quite bad, if they don't have many friends I'll only unfollow them, because I think they will notice if I unfriend them! Unless it's family in which case buh bye!

I bet this comes as a shock by now but... I mainly use social media to unload a million pictures of my dog on other people 😀

I check into Facebook when I'm bored, mostly to look at pictures of dogs or cats. I'm in some groups but there is seriously so. much. drama. No matter what group you're in, drama, drama, drama... so Instagram it is. And I enjoy @Bluebird 's exciting sock pictures, they give me a strange sense of satisfaction... as if they're basically my creation... if I had that talent, patience or yarn 😛

I can't get into Twitter at all. I feel like I should, but I just don't get it.

I quit facebook a couple of weeks ago. I don't miss it. And I only really use twitter to get news from bands, authors, filmmakers etc. that I like.
 
I mostly spend the time reading.

Facebook works great to keep me updated on family members whereabouts without having to waste time on the phone. lol
Not all are on Facebook or very active but it at least helps...
Personally I only post like once a month or something. But not much happens here to tell.

Also read a bit on Twitter. Not a huge fan. Don't get the character limit.
Haven't post anything myself in ages there.

I think forums are the most entertaining form of social medias.
Can spend lots of time on various forums to see different opinions and stuff about shows and other things I enjoy.
Buffy Boards is where I write the most actually. So yeah, I am mostly lurking.

I use it mainly to post photos of the DivaCat, but now she has her own Instagram (managed by my husband. No, I'm not lying. 😀)
