Okay, so there was this spell going on in As5, to make everyone forget about Connor and stuff.

But just how much did everyone forget?

Like, in 'Lineage' Wesley tells his 'dad' about Lilah, how she was killed. But would he still remember that? In some later episode when the süell is broken and we see the flashes of the past there is actually one with him and Lilah so there obviously had to be some stuff he forgot, but in this episode it sounded a lot like he still remembered.

I think most of the stuff was edited to just remove Connor. Things would have taken place as we saw them, but with Connor missing.

But that throws up questions, like, who got Cordelia pregnant? Who sent Angel to the bottom of the ocean? Why did Angel kick Wesley out of the hotel?

There's obviously a lot of stuff that had to be 'rewritten' but I think they'd remember pretty much everything. Including Wesley's affair with Lilah.

Exactly. Path of least resistance, like with Dawn. She was (mainly) added to pre-existing memories, Connor was stripped from them.

Either way there are still too many unexplained events and happenings. That is why I do not like time travel stories either.

Ok, as a huge Connor fan, the fact that they stripped him from everyone's memories really grates, but I can see why they did it, I just wish that had elaborated on what the spell actually did. How they removed him. I wish there had been an episode where Angel was able to talk to everyone and get their stories on how they saw the last few months.

They would have to have more than one episode to show how far the cover up went. What happened to Darla? Did Cordy meet Angel? Because with no Connor there would be no need for her to be a higher power to host Jasmine. With no Connor would Angel and Cordy even fallen in love? Because he was a big part of the reason why they bonded. Etc Etc. He had a major impact on many storylines and going all My Wonderful Life would have taken more than one episode.

It would have been far too confusing to explain what went down in their minds. I believe they kept everything as similar as possible to keep the character development consistent.
