Ever since Buffy was put onto American Netflix last year I've watched it four times. Well, I'm actually halfway through my fourth watch right now. I usually wait about a month then start up again. How often do you guys rewatch Angel/Buffy?

I did a full rewatch last year but I just dip in and out of random episodes now. I don't have time to rewatch the full series again and again right now. Plus UK Netflix lost Buffy a couple of months ago, so it'd have to be DVD rewatches, which as anyone knows are a right pain in the bum!

Would I do a full rewatch again - sure! - as for when? Not sure! 😉

I used to rewatch once a year until I started doing a youtube channel about it. Now I can't because I feel like I should be writing a script when I do.

Are you in the US? Netflix just swapped out all their Buffy eps for the Pivot remasters this morning. I'm wondering if you can report in on a rewatch with the new stuff. Apparently it is truly awful - especially Once More With Feeling.

I'd been meaning to bust out the discs again.

I do yearly rewatches of all my favorite shows.
I never actually started watching Buffy and Angel until this year but now they're both definitely on my list of yearly rewatches lol.

Only 5 more months until I can begin rewatching 😛

I used to re-watch every year, then I sort of stopped, life got in the way. Then I discovered the comics and now I'm re-watching the show after a few years break. I can't dip in and out, I have to start at season 1 and work my way through, so it's taking me some time, but I'm remembering why I loved this show so much.

I am currently on my third watch of BtVS since I originally saw it in 2010. As I'm involved in an organised rewatch this time over on BF it is taking a heck of a long time for us to work our way through but is really adding depth to my appreciation of the stories/characters. Before that I had left it just a year between the first two times I had seen it and will probably go for watching annually when the rewatch is complete.

I am really set on always watching the eps all in chronological order when I rewatch and so never watch odd episodes, I like to relive the whole thing start to finish. Perhaps this is in part because despite coming to the show late I wasn't spoiled for the plots and so really got to see it as a complete piece of work that I binge watched the first time and was instantly smitten with. I'm rewatching AtS for the second time concurrently to look for overlapping themes etc which is proving to be really interesting. 🙂

I wish we'd get all the whirlwind scenes in chronological order because it's interesting seeing a scene from the different angles eg William bumping into Angelus, Drusilla and Darla before he got sired and became Spike. Also the boxer rebellion where Drusilla said she smelt fear and Angel distracts the group away from the family he left in the alley.

I seem to do a total rewatch every couple of years. Inbetween I dabble. An episode here or there, and/or discover new shows. Season 9 of Angel & Faith is responsible for my current rewatch. Which I started and got to the beginning of season four. But then my hubby wanted to join so . . . I started over from the beginning with him. We just watched Inca Mummy Girl last night.

I'm glad though, because I had been getting stuck on season 2 anyway. Kept wanting to go back and watch parts, so maybe after I'm done watching it again with him, It'll be out of my system? Maybe?

My first re-watch I started like 1 minute after I finished the series the first time.
Buffy is the only show I've binge watch twice in a row.

After that I did re-watches at least once a year for a few years.

But after I joined this board in 2008 I haven't watched it much actually (Once or twice perhaps)
It's like I get enough Buffy fix here so I don't need to watch it quite as often anymore.

I've kinda started a new, very slow, re-watch though.
So far, after a bunch of weeks, I watched four episodes... 🙂

/SK

I rewatch Buffy less than I rewatch Angel. And never at the same time either. I usually watch all of Angel then miss it and start watching Buffy to fill the AtS void. I rewatch all of BtVS maybe once every few years, and all of Angel maybe once a year.

I don't rewatch single episodes unless joining in on here, which I never seem to find the time to do as often as I'd like.

Here's Angels History in order: The Vampire Angel on Vimeo

There used to be one for Spike but now I can't find it.

There are videos with all of the Fanged Four, their history from start to finish (a series of 6).

See here.

Thank you so much
Since I'm fairly new to both shows (first saw Buffy about five years ago and Angel about 3 years ago), then I tend to rewatch them quite a lot. With Buffy I've probably watched it all the way through twice, but then have had lots of min-sessions and random episodes watches. With Angel I'm on the second full watch through. Think after this watch I will be more inclined to watch random episodes as I now have a better idea of which are my favs.

I've only rewatched the whole show twice and that was a couple of years ago. I usually just watch my favorite episodes here and there, and catch random eps on TV sometimes. Angel I'm less familiar with, the only eps I rewatch are the crossover eps, and I've only rewatched it twice as well.

Really they did? Oh that's sad. I don't like the Pivot HD versions. It's cropped weird and the lighting is bad.

Just watched an episode, it looks a lot clearer for sure. Haven't had the chance to watch Once More With Feeling so can't comment as to that. Everyone is so used to the old format, so it could be a little jarring. However, I must say I am really impressed with this.

I haven't rewatched it. However, when I'm writing a fic, I rewatch certain episodes to get the characters and situations right.

I've rewatched both Buffy and Angel all the way through about 10-15 times each. The shows have been kicking around for a long time now. Nowadays I just rewatch them when the partner wants to, so he doesn't have to suffer too much with my obsession. 😛

That's a lot! Good for you:)
I think I've seen the entire series three times. I rewatch seasons occasionally when life puts me in a mood and I need to go hang with the Scoobies. I rewatch particular eps very regularly. Picking them to fit a mood, or because an interesting discussion came up here...or because my grandson is in the mood for some.

I still have not been able to force myself to watch all of Angel.

I actually take back what I said about the HD version... the cropping and scaling is really bad in some scenes. The picture is much sharper for sure but I think an HD 4:3 version would have been the way to go. Trying to format native 4:3 into 16:9 means a lot of cropping.
