How Old Are You?

I can't imagine what it would be like to watch it for the first time in my 30s, it really has an impact in your teens.
I watched the show for the first time in my 30's. I'm in my 40's now.
Absolutely loved it anyway. But yeah I can't say that it has made a huge impact in my life...
For me it was more the humour that I fell in love in. Not such much how I could relate to the high school is hell theme.

Pretty much ditto. This forum had a far greater impact on my life than the TV show ever did.

Go ahead, make a guy feel really ancient. Next thing, somebody's gonna ask me how cold it was that winter at Valley Forge...
Not me. I'll just imagine you with your actual dinosaur friends. Don't tell me humans and dinosaurs didn't exist at the same time. I've seen that on tv so that must be true. 😀

I started watching Buffy when I was 14, I'm 28 now, so for exactly half of my life I've been a fan of the show. lol. I was more into Angel when it was airing, it wasn't until 2013 that I watched the whole show on Netflix and got even more into it. I didn't even know there was a 5th season of Angel until I saw it on Netflix cause I stopped watching after Orpheus in s4. lol. I remember seeing the promos for Firefly and Dollhouse when they both aired but for whatever reasons I didn't watch the shows, I'm still not big into Firefly but I do love Dollhouse.

That's White Avenger feeding the Apatosaurus, while Ethan is checking out the mammoth and pterodactyl for dinner. I was the one painting the picture.😛

I'm 61 - saw the original movie when it came out in the theater and was underwhelmed. I was teaching whe the show was on, and was told about scenes, and lines, and found out why half the girls had a Tara part in their hair. Started watching the show about 6 years ago, and never looked back. I've watched a lot of shows in those six years, and really enjoyed a bunch of them. Most were technically better than Buffy, and had engaging characters and plots. But Buffy was something different - it resonated in a deeper way.

That's White Avenger feeding the Apatosaurus,

I don't remember any dinosaurs, but I do remember one particular cave.... lady.... from my youth.

I remember her because we have the same birthday.

(For those too young to remember, that's Raquel Welsh from the movie "1,000,000 Years B C." Just goes to show, not all dinosaurs were green and scaly.

I just turned 26.

I got into Buffy around 2010. I had made a new friend and we didn't know what to watch on TV when I was hanging out with her one afternoon. She asked me how much I liked Buffy (Take note, not had I seen Buffy, how much I liked Buffy) I replied saying I had never seen it. Well, that led to being shown all different episodes in one afternoon (stuff from season 6, season 1, season 4)

Needless to say I got hooked and after another afternoon of watching random eps she had finally let me start from the first episode of season one. A good portion of our friendship was thanks to Buffy I think- from spending hours watching Buffy together to travelling to conventions to meet the actors.
She had been a fan since she was 12 (and she was 6 years older than me) It was cool, she had heaps of Buffy books and magazines.

Our mutual friend was a fan too. We kinda had a cool group going- my new friend, mutual friend, and new friend's brother (who also became one of my closest friends). So sometimes if we weren't playing video games, we would watch Buffy or Angel. So that was awesome.

I'd just like it on record that you're all ageless to me....

Please post your cheques to Bribes R Us, PO Box 99, London.... 😛😀

You can still send them a cheque, I'm sure they'll send you someone nice.... ;-) Won't be me though, sorry! Here's a tissue.
When my daughter was 11 or 12 years old she would watch the recordings I had made of the show during each week so she could join in the conversations at her school, that was the initial airing of the show.
I never thought of white avenger being ancient though. I'll be 61 years young later this year.

I'm 32. I witnessed the premiere in German TV per accident. My parents weren't home and I was looking forward to watch TV as long as I wanted despite having school next day. As I switched to the channel, it was at the beginning where Darla lures this guy into the deserted High school. It really startled me (to put it nicely) when she suddenly turned around in game face since I assumed it's one of those sappy teenager soaps, like Beverly Hills 90210, and was about to switch to the next channel.

My interest was picked, and a few scenes later settled at Willow's first appearances. My reaction was pretty much like Oz'; "Who's that girl?" I must have been around 14/15.
Everything else, the plot, the other characters and the development throughout the episodes deepened my obsession with the show. I was hooked.

When it ended, I didn't even thought about the show for years until I accidentally discovered a German fanfic in the internet. Since then I'm rehooked, especially with reading stories and maybe sometimes writing. But that is not as easy as it looks.

Great story!
I saw the movie in theaters in my late 20's. I liked it and was aware everyone else did not. I watched the series because I liked the movie when my kids were very young. I got netflix a couple of years ago and started a rewatch and became more hooked than ever.

26 (well for a few more days anyway,) and I started watching Buffy as seasons 103 were repeated on TV before S4 hit and from there I watched as it aired in the UK. Meaning I was 10 at the time.
