How old was Spike?

Not sure if this belongs in this section, but I was just wondering how old Spike was in season 7?

It is not completely known just how old Spike really is. I have never purchased the Watcher's Diaries therefore I am only operating from memory here with this tentative explanation.

Our William The Bloody was turned in 1880, making him 125 in vampire years. At the time of his mortal death he was probably in his mid to late-twenties, so it's possible he is between 150-155.

I invoke the mighty and wise Nerd4hire to see if any of this can be corroborated. (sp?)

This is actually a really good question. In "the Initiative", in the famous "can't bite" scene with Willow, he says "I'm only 126!" But if he is counting in vampire years, he's actually 119. (1999-1880=119) So....if he's counting the years that he was human...then, well, he had to have been turned when he was seven. Just another one of those continuity problems, I think!

Lol yea that's right.. Heh, doesn't really work. Or maybe Spike is just saying that to make himself younger? (Kind of sounds like it, the way he says it, lol.) Uh..

The ages of the two resident 'vamps-with-souls' has been a continuity problem since Buffy's second season. Angel's age was never really able to be nailed down either. He claims he's 240 or 241 when he was actually sired in 1753 (making him 245-in years as a vampire- in the second season). If they couldn't pin down the age of the main love interest, nailing the age of the second banana vamp doesn't seen like that much of a sin.
