Just curious toward how old you were when both Buffy and Angel both started.
When Buffy started I was two [awww 😛]
And When Angel started I was 5...

I was 12 when Buffy started and 14 when Angel did, though I didn't start watching Buffy until I was 15 and Angel until I was 17.

Lol. It feels very weird, thinking I was THAT young when the show started 😛

I was 7 or 8 when Buffy first started and about 10 or 11 when Angel started. I'm annoyed that I was so young cause that meant I was a bit young to be watching the show when it was airing. But I do remember seeing some Buffy episodes when I was younger and loving it 😀

I was 17 when the show started, but I didn't start watching until I was 19. Then when I was 21 or so I started begging for the DVDs for Christmas and birthdays. I didn't get into Angel until I'd watched the Buffy DVDs about a million times, and then only because I wanted to see the crossover episodes. I still like Buffy more than Angel.

it was a month before my birthday when it premiered in '97, so i was 8, making me... *doing math* ... 11 when angel came on. but i was 16 when i first watched the shows. i was way late, i know, i know. very sad i didn't get to see it while it was still actually new episodes coming out...

Oooh, I just remembered something 😛 When I was about 5, and my brother was 17, he used to watch Buffy, I used to cry and ask him to turn the 'Nice lady murdering people' off 😛

i was 26 when buffy started, 29 for Angel. Watched Buffy from the beginning which meant sitting up till about 10.30 or 11.00pm because that's when it was on telly in Australia, from quite soon after it started (though my reccollection could be a bit hazy here) . When Angel started it was on the next night and i could never stay up that late two nights in a row (little babies in the house, i was a tired mum) so i sort of lost the thread of the show and only saw little bits here and there and caught up with the entire run of Angel on DVD a couple of years ago. I do remember flicking channels late during season five of Angel and seeing Spike as a ghost and thought what the hell is going on there! (i had always been spoiler mad regarding Buffy but never Angel)

I'm not sure why BOTD is being patronising but anyway.
Yeah the fact that it came on at 10.30, sometimes 11.30 is why I didn't get into it heavily till season 3 when I found a friend who also watched it. And I suppose because I had school on. I was 16 when Buffy aired season 1, so I was 18 turning 19 when Angel began. For a long time my bed time was 11.30, up until the end of season 5 of Angel. I've just now recently seen new episodes to me for the first time, like the Puppet Show (puppets freak me out), and Lonely Hearts.

Lyri, when you read this, remember to breathe!!!!

is this some joke that i'm just not getting?

i had just turned 12 when the show started in the States, but i was 13 before i actually got to see it. so that would be 16 for Angel.

I was 14, a freshmen in high school. I didn't watch season one religiously, but I started hard-core watching season two. I felt it really tied into my life, as I was pretty much the same age as the characters.

So, I would've been 17 when Angel started. I didn't watch that until the fourth season though when I was in college.

Wow, has it really been 10 years?

I was 10 years old when Buffy first aired and 10 years old when I began calling myself a fanatic. Buffy is the best show ever!

I grew up with Buffy. Buffy ended during my senior year. I cant imagine going through high school without this awesome show... what would I do without it.
