So basically it depends on what you know or what you learn after you've become sired.

We know their hearts don't pump, because we saw what happened when Gwen gave Angel's an electric jolt.

I never really understood that scene. Are we to assume that after the jolt, it started beating and still is, or are we to assume it beat a couple times then stopped again?

I suppose it stopped a short while afterwards. Not all hearts continue beating after being shocked.

Oh yeah, about that. Isn't it damn near impossible to revive (in Angel's case resurrect) the heart after a long time?
