How the Summers' girls get their money...

Does anybody know where they get their money from? Buffy no longer works at the Double Meat Palace and we know that they don't pay her for being a counselor, so where do they get their money for food and clothes and bills and stuff?
 
What are you talking about? Lol. -She gets paid for counseling; just not a whole lot. Didn't they say that in "Lessons?"
 
Yeah, but is that enough to pay for food and clothing and bills and cell phones and everything?

This is what she is being paid:

"Well, we do have a community outreach program. And the money we could pay you... wouldn't even fold. But it would just be a couple of days a week."
 
maybe buffy is charging for her slayer services for humans...and maybe she's charging "protection money" for demons including vamps...
 
Well, there is the simple fact that this is a tv show, and I've learned to lower my complaining level about things that don't make sense or couldn't possibly occur. -Off course the writers don't care to explain how Buffy has hot looking clothes, a huge house, and a sister to support, but in no way does she have a salary large enough for any of it.

Maybe Xander helps Buffy out, 'cause he's all successful now with the construction stuff. Here's a better question: How is Willow supporting herself?

Heck, I'm still looking for a better explanation as to why vampires breathe all the time. No more excuses like 'the actors have to breathe' & 'they like to look more human'. Come on!🙄. It's time for them to suck it up, hold their breath, and stop gasping after running! 😛
 
havent' you seen Gunn on Angel...he is wearing Sean John stuff...a couple of episodes after they're bitching bout the mortgate...Gunn must've found Designer clothing at Goodwill or somethin...

and a solution to the clothing problem...dawn steals whatever they want....problem solved

lol I never even thought about that. That's hilarious. He's got the most expensive clothes out of everybody, and he was probably the poorest guy on the show in the beginning.
 
I got a theory...
We haven't seen willows parents in years. maybe they met up with some foul play.
Or Buffy and Dawn are turning tricks down at Willy's demon bar.
Or Buffy has some dirt on Anya and she blackmaled her.
I like the turning tricks idea better.
 
i don't know bout buffy turning tricks...she did it for free with spike...what makes you think she'll charge...and dawn...dawn is still a minor...
 
I always wondered why Willow wasn't out getting a job considering she lives in Buffy's house as well. That's something that i didn't really get last season with the Double Meat Palace thing. One episode Giles is giving her a check for apparently alot of money, then the next she's still broke. I'm really not one to focus on plot holes but that just seemed like a big goof to me.
 
I think that Willow's parents are still supporting her. 'Cause she is still going to college, right?

Yeah, I always wondered what happened to all that money Anya stole. I mean they never mentioned it again, and no one has come after her to arrest her yet, so....
 
Do you rememember at the end of Gone when Willow and Buffy went home with the invisisibility ray-gun. It was powered by a gigantic diamond.

Did they ever give that back?
 
hmm, I don't know about that either. I don't think I've even really thought about it, but thats a really good question. Maybe they pawned it! 😀

The money Anya stole in Him probably doesn't mean anything, because that script was written by Drew Z Greenberg, and there seems to be an unwritten law in Buffy that stuff in Greenberg scripts doesn't have to make sense.
 
Maybe Joyce left them a lot of money ... no wait that was all spent in one summer. Doesn't Will get a scholarship, and don't they have childsupport?
 
hahahah...huge diamond....didn't buffy break that gun in the arcade or something...she's pretty dumb for not contacting a fence to get some money...damn huge amounts of money floatin around theyre and they don't got shat....

hahah...they should show a scene where buffy has to use foodstamps...that would be funnyy...
 
I think Willow is very likely to have a large scholarship to UC Sunnydale. This is the girl that got into MIT, Harvard, and Oxford, after all.

As for what Buffy and Dawn live off... I agree with those of you who just write it off as a TV phenomenon. Maybe I've always lived in high cost-of-living areas or something, but it always amuses me to see these shows where the family breadwinner is making mininum wage, and they're living in a house the size of my in-laws' (who are corporate lawyers).

Of course, Buffy could have decided to *really* blackmail the Double Meat Palace corporation about their "meat" being mostly vegetable mush... 🙂
 
Yeah so ok Willow has a scholarship, you'd think she'd still pitch in though. As far as I know Willow doesn't have a car either, so I guess she either teleports herself to school or catches the city bus lol
 
Maybe Willow did a spell to get a large amount of daimonds and other jewelry?
