How to add banners

I am so confused about banners. How do you add one to your siggy? Do you need to ask permission from the banner maker first? What is OK and not OK to use? How do you give the banner maker credit? If someone else is already using one, is it not ok for you to use it as well? I have no idea how it works, please help! 🙂

You give the banner maker credit by writing "Thanks ( member's username) for the nice signature," and stuff like that.

General rule of thumb is banners are ok to use if the person that created it gives permission, say for example they might have a statement like 'Feel Free to use any of my banners'.

Some artists like you to give credit to them, and/or a link to their site, or on here, maybe their art thread - this will usually be stated somewhere, so it's best to check.

For what is appropriate to use on BB, have a read through the 'Signature Rules'.

Unless someone stipulates that a banner has been made specifically for someone else's or their own use, then I would say that even if someone else has it in their sig, if it is not a custom made banner you would be ok to use it, though most people like to have different banners to everyone else. 😉
