I don't know if this has been done before, I don't remember that it has so here I go! Forgive me if I'm wrong...

Expand our culinary skills and post your favourite recipes here!

Starting off nice and easy..

Mars Bar Slice

4 x 60g Mars Bars, chopped
100g unsalted butter, chopped
3 cups Rice Bubbles
200g milk or dark chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Lightly grease a slice pan. Line base and 2 long sides with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above pan edge.

In a medium, stir Mars Bars and butter together over a low heat for 4-5 minutes until melted.

Place Rice Bubbles in large bowl. Blend in chocolate mixture until combined. Press firmly into prepared pan. Chill until firm.

Melt chocolate with oil in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Spread evenly over slice. Chill until set. Using a hot knife, cut into small squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Omg I love Mars Bar slice. I usually use 4 mars bars, 2 cup rice bubbles, 2 tablespoons of golden syrup. Works well also. 🙂 (hmm now I want that)

My favourite food right now is:

Pesto creamy pasta

1/2 jar of sun-dried tomato pesto
250 ml of cream (or low fat condensed milk if you're me)
1/2 onion, chopped
2 gloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 cup pine nuts
chopped up chicken (amount varies on taste.. maybe 1 breast)
spiral pasta (amount also varies on how much you want)

Fry off the onion and garlic with 1 tsp of olive oil. Add chicken and paprika (or any Italian herbs really). When chicken is brown add nuts, then pesto and cream. Stir well, simmer then turn off and cover for a while.
Now boil the pasta. Once pasta is done combine the pasta and the pesto mix, and serve with cheese if you want.

This only takes me like 15mins.

Wow, this sounds good! I'll have to make this, I LOVE Italian style foods!
Lol....to be honest I only just remembered the Mars Bar slice recently because the girl I work with has just been introduced to it.

It's her birthday on Monday so I thought I'd give it another crack since I haven't for years!

Pasta dish sounds yum! 🙂

I can actually cook pretty well but only if I have the instructions in front of me lol. The only thing I don't need instructions for is Vegemite and Cheese on toast! yummy

Dump Cake:

1 can (one of the big ones, 14 oz. or so?) crushed pineapple
1 can cherry pie filling
1 box yellow cake mix
2 sticks butter (recipe calls for 2 sticks, but I usually end up using 1.5)
2 cups chopped pecans (to cover the top, but it's not as important to have complete coverage, but you will need a good layer of pecans)

Drain pineapple and spread on the bottom of 13 x 9 x 3 baking dish or pan. Cover with cherry pie filling, and then yellow cake mix. Cut butter into thin pats and cover the yellow cake mix with that (try to get even coverage of the whole thing). Cover the butter with the chopped pecans. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes, or until the top is a deep golden brown. Yummy with whipped cream! If the mixture is close to the top of the pan before you put it in the oven, you might want to put something underneath to catch the drips, because it WILL spill over.

the name of this cake is scary! But looks yum :p
Cold Cereal:

One box of your favorite on or off brand cereal
A jug/carton/pint of milk.

Now, carefully fill one bowl two thirds to the top full of cereal. Now take your milk and carefully CAREFULLY fill the bowl until the cereal starts to slowly rise. Now take out a spoon and obviusly eat. Please don't choke as I am not liable for anyone getting hurt just 'cause of my profound knowledge on the makeage of cereal.

OMG, I absolutely love to cook. It's the one thing that I know that I'm good at ^_^ I have too many favourite recipes to list them all here and I tend to make stuff up as I go along so I don't really have anything written out; the numbers in the following recipe are rough estimates. But here's a time-tested classic. PS: Since I'm a vegetarian, I don't prepare meat or fish. I do use dairy products.

Tortellini Noviomagi (2-4 people, depending how much they eat)
2 bags of Tortellini with cheese filling (400 grams)
1 chopped onion
2-3 cloves of garlic (depending on if you have to work the next day)
1-2 teaspoons of sambal (depending on how hot you want it)
5-8 tomatoes (700 grams)
250 grams of cheese (can be processed cheese, but if you want to treat yourself get something like Gouda)
3-4 teaspoons of Italian herbs (mix and match whatever you have at home; oregano and basilicum are always good picks)
100 grams of mozzarella cheese
some olive oil

First off, boil some water. Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Make an plus-shaped incision in the skin of the tomatoes and put them in the water. Let them boil for just a little while so that the skin comes off entirely or is easily pulled off. Do that too all the tomatoes. When your done, heat up a pan and put olive oil in. Chop the tomatoes in pieces and put them in the pan. Let them cook for a bit till they get all soft and squishy and it's basically one big red mess. In the meantime, you might want to boil some water for the tortellini. When the tomato-bits are all one squishy mess put another pan on low fire with some olive oil. Thrown the tomatoes into a sive and let it drip into the new pan. This way you get fresh tomato sauce without the seeds, hard bits, or skin. Make a circular motion with a large spoon in the sive to get everything out. (This may take a while; in the meantime, let the tortellini cook.) You can add the chopped onion, some of the herbs, and one of the cloves of garlic to the sauce. Let everything cook and meanwhile, slice the cheese and the mozzarella. When the tortellini is done, throw away the water and mix the second clove of garlic with the tortellini. Now, take out a large oven.... how-do-you-call-the-dishware-you-put-in-an-oven?... anyway, put half of the tortellini in it. Sprinkle it with herbs. Now cover the surface with slices of cheese. Now pour the sauce in. Cover the sauce with another layer of cheese. Put the second layer of tortellini in. Cover it with the mozzarella. Sprinkle with herbs and voilà¡ all done. Except that you still have to put it in the oven for about half an hour or so.

PS: Just now I noticed how very little words to do with cooking I know in English. Isn't that weird? You don't really learn stuff like that.

see why havent you come to cook for me yet then damn you ally :P
Normally I don't give out my recipes, but seeing as how I'll probably never get to make anything for you guys, I'll make an exception. Here's my favorite treat:

Rocky Road Brownies
(also known as "Orgasmic Brownies")

2 boxes of Fudge Brownie Mix (I like Betty Crocker) for 12x12 pans
Ingredients called for on back of boxes (eggs, water, oil--can't remember how much you'll need off the top of my head)
2 cups walnuts (optional)
More walnuts for later
1/2 bag small marshmallows
1 container Fudge icing--the kind you can pour on while the brownies are still warm

Mix up both boxes of brownie mix as usual. Add 2 cups walnuts to batter, stir. Pour batter into biggish pan (I use 18x9 or something close). Bake (at temperature called for on back of brownie box) until the center is JUST set. Remove brownies from oven, COVER the top of them with marshmallows. Put back in oven, bake until marshmallows are browned on top. Remove from oven, sprinkle more walnuts on top, cover the whole thing with fudge icing immediately. Cover and place in fridge until cool.

Warning
This recipe makes a LOT of VERY rich brownies. Make sure you have lots of people to share them with.

Enjoy.

My kind of cake! ;)
The talk of brownies made me remember my very fattening idea for *fuller* s'mores!

Do the whole graham cracker thing and then take the top graham cracker and cut out a brownie that is slightly smaller than the cracker. Next, take the bottom cracker and put a marshmallow on it. Stick it in the microwave for ten seconds. (It really only takes five but I like to watch it inflate...) Once it's done put the brownie on top of the marshmallow and stick the other graham cracker on!

Voila! 500 extra pounds in a small sandwich form! 😉

Depending on what you use you have a Brownie pan.... or a glass pan.... lol thats what we call it at my house lol either way its a pan to us.... Maybe its not the technical term everyone uses but i believe it is lol

oh and for the stove you have Skillets 😉

Thrown the tomatoes into a sive and

I'm gonna guess a Sive is what we call a drainer here lol

The Chosen agrees: ORGASMIC BROWNIES? i love you!

So named because the first time I made them, the friend who was helping me took a spoonful of still-warm, marshmallowed, iced brownie and said, "Oh, my God, these are orgasmic!"
