How to Get A Custom Made Banner
If you would like a custom made banner to display in your signature, please see our Official Banner Makers List.
Take a look at the samples of their work by clicking on the members names and when you find a style you like, PM that Banner Maker with as much detail as possible of the banner you would like. It is a good idea to initially provide the following information:-
If a Banner Maker requires any more information they will notify you when they reply to your initial request.
Signatures should be no more than 150 pixels high x 725 pixels wide total and should include no more than 8 lines of text. It also should not cause a horozontal scroll bar on a 800 x 600 resolution screen. Only the first 150 pixels high of your sig will display in posts. Sound wavs, offensive language, and any quotes or pictures that would be 'spoilers' are not allowed. Please also do not include lists of names of board friends - while we are happy that you have made friends on the boards, this can make other members feel excluded and is contrary to the community we wish to have here.
For more information on our signature rules, please read our FAQ which can be found here. Your total signature should be no bigger than this banner:-
Displaying Images In Your Signature
Once you have a banner, you will want to display it in your signature.
To get an image like a banner showing in your signature you need to firstly make sure that your image is uploaded somewhere that you can link to it - why not try http://www.hostmysig.com/ where you can sign up for one of their free accounts specifically designed for the uploading & linking of banners - you get up to 2MB of storgage there.
Next you need to put the following code around the url of your image - remember to take out the *s or your image won't work! Here's an example:-
[*img]http://www.uploadsite/yourname/coolbanner.jpg[*/img]
How to Centre Your Signature
If you wish to centre you image, then you need the following code at the beginning of your signature and your end. Don't forget to take out the *s again. Here's an example:-
[*center][*img]http://www.uploadsite/yourname/coolbanner.jpg[*/img][*/center]
How to Make A Banner Link to Somewhere
You need to add the url of where you want your banner to link to, it works a little differently than the normal tags for url though. Here is an example of what to do:-
[*url=https://www.buffy-boards.com][*img]http://www.uploadsite/yourname/coolbanner.jpg[*/img][/*url]
The above would mean that you would be able to click on the banner and it would link to Buffy Boards.
Hope that helps you out. 🙂
