That would have been great. I wish they'd had someone competent like Goddard or Fury write it that way instead of that mess Greenberg presented.
Although, you know my personal beef wasn't so much they might want Buffy gone, as the way Buffy just meekly went. Then again if as you say, you look for precedent in previous episodes, there is one. Buffy's heading out the door in Dead Man's Party too when things get tough from her support group.
