Autumn cleaning is way more work than spring cleaning! All the summer dust. I used to clean the door frames regularly, but hadnt done them at all this year. They are filthy dirty! And so are the doors! How can doors get so dirty?!?
I started vacuuming the rugs, the sort of sit on the floor and scrub type vacuuming. The buns are moulting. Im only halfway through and wanted a break because i was worried I would overheat the vacuum.
Its just nice to have a home that falls into its own rhythm. I am a slow learner and its taken me a few years, but Im starting to figure it out! Certain hedges can be trimmed 4 times a year, deep clean of the curtains and floors, twice a year, cleaning the walls and fireplace.. its much easier to do it all on a schedule than it is to clean as I go. Way too much stress to keep on top on everything rather than just leaving it til the big season clean week. And I didnt have to plan a schedule, it just happened as the seasons change 😀 what a dumbo i am for trying to stick to plans, they never work!
I have a rolled roast turkey in the oven. Making some scones later. I got a grocery delivery this morning and do not want to make too many dishes before I have people coming over tomorrow, so making this big batch of food will keep me fed til then.
