Hey, all you slackers, lurkers, and children of Satan!!! Tell us about your day. Yes, and we want to know every sordid detail. 😈

I have survived my first week of work since March! However I really didn't feel like doing the walking today, managed to hit to 4.7 minimum, but only just. Spent more money on food than I intended, I really need to get food shopping under control, I'm spending way too much money.

Did watch a new (to me) film though, which was good as I rarely watch anything new.

what did you see?
Took the bus to pick up my car. Once again, the car is working...but for how long? The owner of the automotive place DOES realise that I'm just going to keep coming back if there's another problem. And they're working for free now. Well, not really....more like, they're actually EARNING the thousands of dollars my parents paid them to fix it in the first damn place.

I wanted soda, but there wasn't much of a choice in @DeadlyDuo's frig. How inconsiderate!! Really, just plain rude. I made sure to check if she was still knocked out from all the ruffles I put in her drink, then made my way home. What a throughly exhausting day.

There was coke. It was the drinking kind though so I guess it wasn't what you were looking for. 😛 There was also wine and beer in the cupboard.....There's only beer now. 🍷

I resent the implication that...oh, very well. 🐿
We had the driveway repaved last Monday and today it is finally hard enough to drive the cars on. High temperatures tend to turn asphalt into mush. So far, I don't see any yielding of the surface so I guess that is done.

Went to the car wash, which is always a treat. For a flat fee of $29 a month, you can get your car washed every day if you like. I haven't done that, not yet...but I might! I LOVE having my car shiny all the time. It makes me happy. So many people around here just let their cars get all dusty, with bird poop on the windows. Gross. I just could NOT do that. In fact, I always wipe my car down before I go somewhere; Windex the windows, shine up the chrome, Armor All the tires, etc. A shiny car (SUV, actually) is a happy car. 😀

Yesterday was great! The urchins (daughter and son-in-law) made a father's day dinner fit for royalty. The son-in-law was trained as a chef at George Brown College, a vocational college with a good reputation. The food was:

1. Veal Marsala
2. Veal Parmesan
3. Mashed potatoes
4. Roasted vegetables

My day went quite well.

Went to make a cuppa tea when I got to work, milk is gone off. That's how my day is going.

That's a good thing. You should never put milk in tea

Only thing you should ever put in tea is some honey, maybe.

Well, it depends. I'm not going to drink chai with no almond milk. I'm just not.
I went to the library and got my new passport made, since the trip to Greece this September is still on. At least now that's out of the way and my family can stop worrying that I won't be able to go, lol. It was a pretty quick thing, in and out in five, but it cost a bit more than I had worked out on my own; I had the money, though, thankfully.

Then I went to the grocery store and, for the first time in years, got actual food, not just something that is barely better than fast food; salad with chicken strips and bits of bacon for lunch and some nice steaks and veggies for dinner. I remember feeling much better and more energized back when I used to eat this all the time. I've also cut a bit back on my Coke intake, I think I'm down to one bottle a day 😛

Actual food? Looks up from bag of chips, shakes head, returns to chips.
I get my dog a lot of raw, bloody bones. Only the really big ones occupy her for a significant amount of time. Mostly she gets ribs, that’s like 20 min tops.

I am now, after a check with my police records, officially approved to work with minors and am pretty excited to start volunteering next week as a support person for teens with mental health issues (you get training of course). So my day was good, I even saw a spider at home! He was too fast for us to bond, but I think I’ll call him Charles.

Had to make sure the thread stayed at the perfect balance between 85% no spiders and 15% spiders, huh?

I did that for awhile. As well as kids in women's shelters. It was very hard for me, especially when they left.

I can imagine, in shelters you get more of a face-to-face contact too

There was one specifically. It was the helping with homework, helping him learn to hit baseballs, etc. Everything was going really well and then boom, they left.

As it was a womens shelter it was rare that guys would volunteer and they said it's sad because there are so many boys that could use a positive male and see that all men aren't violent and abusive. I would have liked to do it longer but some of the emotions were a bit much at the time.

Yeah, this is less personal, thankfully.
