I have a whole cupboard full you're welcome to! Its actually gotten easier to get stronger opioids from doctors now. GPs just give out ongoing scrips for higher dosages and stronger drugs so they dont have to see the patient weekly. Fentynol patches are easier to get than herb.

A storm has rolled in, which might explain my spaz out earlier and Tobys extreme clinginess. I can justify putting the heater on in this weather. I MUST go out tomorrow for supplies. I'm trying to figure out how I can sneak the kangaroo into the shopping centre. It's not like I can leave him in the car. I am so hungry but not rich enough for a pub burger tonight. I only miss cheap city takeaway options on nights like this. Cooking would help heat the house if I'd get off my fat arse to make it but my options are extremely limited. I think I have cheese and bread, possibly some noodles which is better than nothing but not particularly appealing when I know meat burgers are so yum and give that satisfied full feeling.

We eat the grown ones, the young ones dont have much meat on them! I reckon we should promote roo meat more than we do. Put it on Masterchef and watch it fly off the shelves! Currently the pro shooters send most roo meat to Russia. But in my area the dead roos are left where they fall for scavengers or fed to dogs. There are some BIG kangaroos around here, they could feed quite a few people if processed properly. I do buy my meat from the shops though, I am unsure of parasites and worms in wild populations. Its priced more expensive than chicken but cheaper than beef. Silliness if you ask me, we have so many roos we should embrace the taste!

I prefer Roo mince over beef mince, especially for burgers. It is very lean, high iron, low fat, good protein. I am not sure how to describe the taste, more gamey than beef, richer in flavour. The steaks can be hard to cook, but certainly not impossible, over cooked roo is very tough. I have never tried tail, but would be keen, I imagine it would be best cooked in traditional ways because it is so muscular. I definitely recommend giving it a go if you can get your hands on it.

It has more protein than other red meats, has less cholesterol and is loaded with iron and many other vitamins. They say it tastes like venison.

I didn't want to go anywhere today because I felt like crap. But I did, and off to the pain management office I went. I took the bus because my brother was using the Chevy today; unfortunately, I had to pee every 15 minutes! God!! So I had to keep getting off the bus...it was annoying and inconvenient af! But it didn't deter me from my drug-seeking mission. I was DETERMINED to accomplish this, and I did. By the time I got to the pharmacy, I felt like death because of the humidity and sunlight....luckily, my mum and brother called and ended up taking me home. (Good timing!)

As I opened the front door a praying mantis appeared out of nowhere and decided to move towards my hand! Seriously, what are the chances? Have you ever seen a praying mantis?! They're horrifying, just gross. I shrieked, ran to the back, and got a can of Raid. It's very, very dead now. 😛

What's wrong with a praying mantis? They don't have venom, they don't attack humans but most important, they attack the things that do have venom and attack humans. If you don't want your praying mantises, I'll take them.

That busride sounds like hell Slippers. I'm glad you achieved your goal! I don't really have issue with bugs of any sort. It'd be a pretty miserable aussie life if I did haha. I have also heard stories about spiders that can live through a whole can of chemicals by making a little air pocket. Squashing is a better sure fire way of death. I have a few resident spiders that stay where they are for the rabbits mozzie protection. One near the back door and a few around the front. They know to hide when I have to clear the webs. I want to name the cute little black one at the back door, he is my best defence against mosquitoes that try to sneak in past the flyscreen.

I took toby to the shops yesterday. He was a very good kangaroo, sat quietly in his bag the whole time, not a peep. I have been craving chicken burgers lately, so instead of buying a burger at the pub, I thought I would buy cheaper bulk ready made burger patties and freeze them. I got home and read the packer - not suitable for freezing 🙄 I rushed around the shop with Toby and didn't think to read the label. I'm pretty sure I will get over my chicken burger craving by tomorrow, I had them for dinner last night, lunch today and it will be dinner again. The chickens will probably get a couple as well!

I had some guests this morning that took over toby cuddle time for me. He is such a sook and loves the attention, although it was the first time he had seen other people, he seemed to cope ok. I forget how much of a baby he is. Speaking of baby, its bottle time for him, he certainly knows what the word "bottle" means.

I had a lot of work to do today but i postponed it all. King of procrastination. It was just too hot for me to function at all, and i don't have AC at home. Who needs studying and housework when you can eat ice-cream and watch Once More With Feeling two times in a row.

He is ultra sooky and the rabbits are fighting cos they are not getting enough me time. I do not enjoy clingy baby animals. Very tempted to take him to the sanctuary early as I don't think he likes being a lone roo and I am certainly not getting another one! Plus my garden is full of bulbs in bloom, and those are toxic to kangaroos. The wildlife group did get extensive photos of my yard (when I requested small caged animals) so I don't know why they didn't point out the toxic plants. Its lucky I read up on them or he would have been poisoned for sure.

He peed all over my bathroom so I hope he doesn't pee his bed tonight... Really cannot see the appeal of clingy babies!

UGGGHHHH I just got offered another Roo joey. I have sent a reply back saying I can take Toby back to bond to the new one cos I am NOT getting another one and he would probably prefer to bond with his own kind. I hate his need for constant snuggles. He grabbed my ear with his claw last night and licked my face as I was trying to clean poo off him.

I am waiting for a reply. I suspect the care group will be very, very mad that I do not want to take on 2 joeys, and instead prefer to return him, but I am really falling into self loathing in this maternal role. It is NOT me at all. I need to get out of the house and go for a proper bushwalk. Maybe climb another mountain. This slow pace of life has dragged my energy right back down into fatigue. I need to be moving more than this. It is very restrictive to be needed this much. He hasn't distracted me from the other crap I live with, just added to it. I can do the feeds, clean the poo, do the washing, but the cuddles, the neediness, the clinginess is straight up draining and I finally feel like I can relate to all those mothers in the mental hospitals who hated themselves for having children.

Well it's been a long week, I set off on my holidays on Saturday and got back last night, visited @Nix and hung out with her and Abbs for a few days, before going to see a friend overnight and travelling to Ireland. I will never travel with friends again, I should have learnt after last time, in a group it's fine but one on one no, never again. I like to travel and explore and leave early in the morning, stay out all day having a quick lunch and then crash at the end of the day. Ah well it was a good trip and I've now been to Ireland, so I can scratch it off my world map. I would go again, but for longer and see more of the country too.

However Thursday I got the news my an had died, was expected but still more sudden than we thought. I went straight to visit my mother on my way home, and found out the details, it was mother that was there with her at the end. They had been doing shifts and my aunt was meant to be there but she was running late. Not looking forward to that funeral, I have managed to avoid seeing everyone lately, so going there and seeing how my grandad has changed is not going to be good. Plus seeing family, I try to avoid that anyway!

Back to work today too.

Condolences for the funeral @nightshade. You're the third friend who's lost a nan this week! We're getting old.

Today has been a bacon sandwich day. I did quit bacon for a while cos the pigs sceam I the truck, but then I realised all of the animals scream in the trucks and I'm sure as hell not giving up meat.

I know I have done enough weeding for a day when I shut my eyes and see weeds.

Toby didn't annoy me as much today. He is getting braver and it's a real relief. I have no interest in useless things and a little cry baby snuggle roo is pretty useless. There is no exchange of energy like there is with rabbits and horses, just take take take. Today he hopped a whole 3 metres from me and seems to have had a growth spurt. So even if I was to keep him until one bottle a day, he would be leaving much sooner than I expected. Still waiting to hear if the wildlife group want him back to bond with the new boy or If they want me to keep him until sanctuary time. They offered me ducklings and I said no, only adult animals from now on.

The full moon has made a migraine again. I meditated for an hour before dusk and it was beautiful to watch the sunset with the kangaroo while picking rocket from the garden for the buns. Now back inside bored brainless.

Abbs finally has her new bed! Bless her, we had a few tears at the loss of her old bed (had it 9 years) but she is a happy bunny now she has a big new one 🙂 now to sort the rest of her room out and get her computer upstairs... oh that reminds me i need to get word onto it too! Plus put The Greatest Showman onto it!!

SO so long as I continue to be productive it will be a good day!

You can create a document in Open Office Text (the equivalent of Word) and store it as a .doc document so it will be identical to anything done in Word. The download is free and it gives you six programs, Text Document, Spreadsheet (equivalent to Excel), Presentation, Drawing, Database and Formula. I have used Text and Spreadsheet and except for some arcane operations that your daughter will not run into at school, they are for all intents and purposes identical.

I use open office too, works well 🙂

There is a storm coming, the little roo could feel it. He had been super active all arvo, begged for my dinner, had a ball playing with a bit of grass I gave him and still tried to climb out of his pouch, so I took him for a before dinner bottle run in the garden.

I had no idea he was so strong and fast already! Did crazy zoomies around the garden, tried to eat rocks, flew around so fast and stacked it a couple times. He got real brave and ran up to the back fence and visited the chickens all on his own, then hopped through the bushes into completely new terrain. He can get so high and so fast! It looked like he had a ball! I think he might like a bush walk soon if they don't take him back before that. Absolute nutter.
