How was your day today?

Oooh, the plot thickens!!! An F-22 shot down the Spy Balloon. 🇺🇲 😅 I feel so safe now! 🥳
I seriously don't know why people are so fascinated about this! It's like "everyone" is talking about it. Just find it odd.

Radioactive capsules and spy balloons 😀 2023 is already entertaining!

Someone was doing burnouts on the highway last night. I always freak out cos my bedroom is at the front of the house. When they built the ambo station I told them someone is gona ram raid it. So they put pylons and a brick wall out the front. I wish I had a brick wall! The hedge isnt much protection if they lose control.

I might move the dogs bed away from the front window. Harmony sleeps in her crate but I have left it open the last few nights and she hasnt got up to mischief or peed anywhere since earthquake day. It'd be nice if she could sleep with Lilah on her couch, but Harmony is one of those dogs that gets vicious if woken up and shes very protective and loves her crate, so she might not want to sleep on the couch.

Anya is having a blast, free roam of the hallway and bedroom, zooming about and trying to get Xander to play. Funny bossy bunny.

I feel like it's impossible to make close friends as an adult

I have heard that from a lot of people. I dont agree personally, its just that real life friends are just too much work. I dont have the energy to keep up with them, so maybe its more along the lines that some people have too much going on just surviving, let alone keeping up appearances with others.

Last time I had a friend visit it cost me. She did help out around here which was lovely, but still cooking for another, supplying water, electricity, being "on" all day and available for conversation was exhausting. She tried to extend her stay, saying "oh its so late I might as well stay for dinner..." I told her there was a nice roadhouse on her way home. I didnt have enough food for dinner for us! It was nice to see her but I just ran out of steam. She doesn't get it, shes 39, lives with her parents and works on the mines. Money and stability has never been an issue for her. I do love my friends but I dont have to, nor want to see them too often, cos it takes so much out of me and they dont get it. Online doesn't drain me physically or financially and to be honest I could be talking to a bunch of bots and still feel like my social needs are met haha.

For more superficial and light friendships, I have religion. They have to to be nice and polite so its an easier experience. Although even then it is tough to figure out polite ways to say No to invitations. So I dont think finding friends is an issue, most people seem open to it, but keeping friendships going is actual work.

very true with the keeping friendships
Once again, I woke up at 2am!!! Grrr. I guess my underlying stress is causing this. Thank GOD for edibles, because they really calm me down.

After another big pizza and chicken party, I am currently eating some chocolate/toffee truffles. Oh, had a yogurt too. 🥳 Now watching my beloved cable tv. I've missed it sooooo much! ♥️

Had fried chicken and pizza again. And candy. And a yogurt. At the moment, I'm really loving my life. 🍕 🍕 🍕

I think this is true, at school you saw them everyday so it was easy to keep going, but as an adult it's on you to make arrangements to keep in contact and see each other.
My craft group friends are all older than me, easily be my mother or grandmother but we keep in contact outside the group meeting and celebrate birthdays etc. So you have to be open to different ages as well, rather than just you're own age.

I think being an adult is more of a lonely experience, people aren't as open to new friends or they don't have the time anymore. When I was a child, any person around my age was a potential friend, and that's nowhere near the case anymore.
But luckily I've always gravitated towards having just one close friend in most situations, I've never been part of a real friend group. Also, I can poach some of my best friend's friends.

It's massage day! It's also food delivery day so that'll probably undo the benefits of the massage but hopefully some of this neck pain goes.

do you get massages at salons or at home ones
I booked into a salon in town, not been there before, but after wearing a sling for a month with a knot at my neck I really needed it. Its a back, neck, shoulder and scalp one, so not entirely sure what I'm going to do with my hair.

How bad would it be if someone in real life found your Buffy Boards account?

I don’t think anyone would even care, lol. They would just add it to the pile of “things I do or like that others don’t understand”
