Ah yeah. 10 000 mm was what I saw too and thatโ€™s fine for me, this is not the dogwalk in heavy rain coat for me ( that one looks something like a garbage bag), but rather the โ€walk to the train to get to workโ€ coat, so 10 000mm is fine ๐Ÿ˜€

Also, if it is cold I can just wear one of my water resistant knitted sweaters underneath ๐Ÿ‘

(For anyone who wants to knit water resistant sweaters the answer is Alafosslopi yarn. Not waterproof, but 1-2 in light snow and youโ€™re still dry when you come home)

So whats wrong with an umbrella? Do you people not use them?

I used one the other day. Useless when the wind pelts you from all corners and ok yeah, my hair was dry when we got home, but the rest of me wasnโ€™t.

Also much nicer with a coat when you also have a dog leash to carry (since I bring him to work heโ€™ll be with, whatever the weather)

I see. So you are using the dog as an excuse to get a fansy pantsy underpowered raincoat. I usually just don a baseball cap. I think maybe once or twice in my life I used an umbrella. Raincoat? Pfft. I dont even wear a coat in the winta. That's the benefit for being a man, you don't have to worry about crap like that. Man up and take it.

Risking hypothermia for man points is so cool.

I think Iโ€™ll stick to my pretty floral coat, though.
 
Last week I restarted to go to gym, I go every day except Sunday (1 hour of training, each day for 6 days). I restarted because a friend, that go to this gym assiduously, insisted on making me go, otherwise i don't think i would have restarted (I'm a little depressed and demoralized by life and existence xd...but whatever). He sent me a message all days telling me to go to gym xd.
By the way, I have to admit this gym is very beautiful: big, many machinery and equipments; it's also on the second floor of a building and there is a good view.

Today, after gym, i also went to a bar with this friend and the owner of the bar called him "Ivan", he said that he looks similar to Ivan Drago xd (Well, it's true, he is a little similar to him physically)
 
It rained today, finally, but I missed it, boo. I'd go out without brolly or raincoat and just soak it in at this point!

I spent 30 minutes crafting a thoughtful, researched comment on a news article (unlike the random thoughts I fling onto this site๐Ÿคฃ), only to have the comments section close before I could post.๐Ÿ˜

I might fancy having a go at knitting something, which I have not done since before I was a teenager, but sweaters were not it! I want to knit some dishcloths because they are easier. And because I want some dishcloths!

Knitting something you need is a good start. I've got so many sweaters now I'm gonna have to start giving them away! Though even talking about knitting while looking at your current summer banner is making me sweat a bit, lol

Knitted dishcloths are also great. Do I sound domestic or what? ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeah, I would not recommend knitted beachwear! That banner is because of how the weather is making me feel!

I've actually never knitted a dishcloth, what kind of yarn do you use - synthetic, wool? Might be something to consider when I need something quick to knit.

And it is reminding me how I've been feeling. Ugh. I was not made for summer. BUT I will try not to complain, as that old GoT line goes "winter is coming", more correctly, darkness is coming, so I'll just enjoy the sweaty, sweaty, but bright and nice weeks we have left!

I hate cotton. I hate wearing it, I hate working with it! I use the plastic/acrylic for everything cos its the cheapest, washes easy and doesnt shed. Wouldn't be good for clothes. I pretty much only make crochet blankets now, cos I use them as cushioning for the couch. I'm terrible at finishing projects but I can always finish a blanket.

Big heavy rain now. Making Harmony very worried. I LOVE it! Absolutely bliss. Dressage on tv so I hope the power stays on!

While I do love knitting in wool, preferrably Icelandic, I'll admit that washing is generally a nightmare. Even wool programs on a washing machine can ruin a sweater and make it unsuable. So, it is delicate, literal, handwash and drying between towels which takes an age. Oh and yeah, sheds. However, it does a better job keeping you warm which is more important up here I suppose.

How big are your blankets? I think it would take me forever to finish one. Though maybe crochet is quicker? I've never been able to get the hang of it at all.

I have many blankets and none are the same size ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I like to go about 1.2-1.5m wide and 2-3m long so that I can fold and roll them for the couch. Crochet is much easier than knitting to pick up and put down, nor do you have to look down as much once in the swing of it. Im still scared to use knitting needles incase one of my pets does a sneak attack!

Corner to corner blankets are especially easy, because its pretty much just slip stitch and double crochet. It builds itself like lego ๐Ÿ˜€

@NotASlayer and @nightshade this would work for dishcloths too, but once you get the hang of it, just keep going and you have a blanket.

Crochet is not something I have tried as yet! The closest I appear to have come to it is French knitting.
