What profession do you plan to pursue with a humanities degree? And when you answer that question it usually explains why so many are un/underemployed.I hear a lot of people with humanities degrees are unemployed or underemployed.
Is there a job counselor or the like at your school that you could discuss some of this with? They might be able to suggest some more lucrative career options with your degree, or some alterations to your degree path, like perhaps taking a few classes in a different field while sticking with your major.I have become more worried about my future with a humanities degree. I don't come from a family with money and I hear a lot of people with humanities degrees are unemployed or underemployed. Even more so for neurodivergent people like myself. I have never had a boyfriend, so I might never get married or have a household with two incomes. My friendships tend to be fleeting and surface level so in dire situations I don't think I would be able to depend on them. I hope to pursue a masters but with the cost of living and property getting more expensive to even rent I am very worried I won't be able to afford to live alone.
