How Was Your Day?

No meeting tonight 🙁 Feel a bit down without it. Everyone is up at the convention but its too far for me to go, so I will get the livestream on the weekend.

Played golf today. The guy said it was my best score yet, but I duno cos I didnt really care about counting. I just like hitting the ball until it goes in the hole. And I dont want to do 18 holes again any time soon! Just did 9 today, but walked instead of taking the golf cart, which was much nicer for me. Probably why I played better cos I wasnt getting in and out of the silly thing all morning. It was so windy, a huge tree was knocked over and lots of branches down out there.

Tomorrow I aim to take the dogs walkies and clean the house. The garden is looking a bit hectic, but doing work is weather dependant. If its another hot windy day, its a no go!

Such a thrilling morning. The truck died in the middle of traffic...once again. (Good thing I paid that AAA bill!) So much fun owning the world's largest paper weight. I think the engine overheated (again) because I went all the way out to Marina del Rey. I should've known better, since that's quite a drive for the old truck.

I'm not even stressed about it. Met loads of friendly people while I waited for the tow truck. I was surprised at how helpful and concerned strangers were! Maybe I should give the human race another chance. Or like my sister says, "Have you ever thought it might be YOU who's the problem?" That's a distinct possibility!

Sorry that happened, but I've also found that one's car breaking down tends to bring out the best in helpful humanity.

There's your problem, the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Huge day for me. The guy with the chainsaw came round and chopped down some trees for me. Bad timing for me because I woke up with a slight migraine but its the first suitable day we've had for a while. And he already had the chainsaw out to clear up the trees that fell in the wind. I have been dragging them out, cutting them smaller and burning them most of the day. Got through a LOT, even my neighbour was surprised, he did not think the green leaves would burn. About 3/4 of the way through now. Probably wont do any for a few more days. Im pretty sore now! And cant stop eating chocolate and bread and milk.

Have to go out to Marina del Rey for my prescription. I'll probably take the bus, since Lyft is $30 one way. 😳 Then again, MAYBE I'll take a Lyft since the journey involves two buses and lots of strangers I don't want to sit with....

Edit: I'm on the bus. (No WAY I'm paying $30 for Lyft!) Frankly, I feel like I'm on a field trip. Its cool and cloudy, not so crowded. And I'm not stressed while driving an undependable truck that may or may not break down

Do you really feel like you are on a field trip? I thought you'd be a bit old to be at school?

I never thought I could enjoy vegetables until I discovered Marks and Spencer's frozen spinach and now I am eating it everyday. (just realised how much this sounds like an advert lol. I was not bribed, no commission was paid!!!)

Given that you ate the spinach I'd say you deserve the commission. Was Popeye about?

I didn't enjoy vegetables until I started cooking them myself and realised that it wasn't veg I hated, it was how they were cooked.

Try cooking them leafy greens in a semi-vacuum it is good to eat hot Brussel Sprouts that have the same consistency as lettuce leaves.
Nice few days for me. Took one doggo to the coast yesterday and discovered she is a cafe dog, through and through. No reactivity at all, in a cafe where people were all smiles at her rather than barking at her like the towns people do at home. She even made some little dog friends 😀 We had a blast! BEAUTIFUL drive with the clouds and the bright yellow fields. I'm aways in awe of the mountains as we drive past.
Then today my grocery delivery was cancelled, and they gave me a $20 credit for the trouble. So I decided to go down to the coast again to get click and collect instead and took the other dog down. She loved it as well! She was not keen on the trolly at Bunnings but she wasnt naughty, just worried. I got some plants and flower seeds, and it was all free on flybuys points! So I was stoked about that.
Now turkey is in the oven, I have my dressing gown on and the heater is on. Excellent way to end the excellent days.

I'd planned to wash my truck, but it's 91° out there! So I'll be sitting INDOORS with the fans running...watching YouTube and drinking Coke. I have absolutely no desire to eat anything, just too hot and I feel nauseous. Of course, chain-smoking isn't helping matters. 😄

I bought new dance shoes yesterday and wore them to the dance at Lago's. I noticed the heel pad (that controls the coefficient of friction) had come off, so I took the shoes back. They said I could just stick the pad on with glue but since I had been inconvenienced, they gave me another pair of shoes free of charge! I am now set for life for dance shoes.

I ended up washing my truck. 😅 Couldn't bear to see it SO dirty after a week of sitting out there. It would drive me crazy crazier.

My sister-in-law and nephew happened to drive by while I was washing the truck. (She and my brother are divorced, but I still call her my sister-in-law) She complimented me on my haircut and was surprised that I didn't go to a salon or something. I took off about 4 inches and everything is perfectly even. Now it's an inch above my shoulders...a blunt cut. Looks really good! 💜

Another frustrating day of dealing with companies for Dad's estate. This time mostly with Bank of America. They took three hours over two days to set up an estate checking account, and didn't order me a debit card or checks, which you'd think would be standard service. I just found out they screwed up the check order I made. After an hour on the phone with various non-helpful people, I'm getting new checks. But she informed me that it seems the debit card I ordered 13 days ago was never sent. Sheesh!

At least I got good exercise. I went down this evening to an open house about upcoming construction in my area. V-e-r-y steep hill down to it, about a mile away. They didn't really have any new info, and aren't going to do the one favor for the neighborhood that I asked about. Got some good views coming and going, though.

Saw Rocky Horror at the cinema last night, and was underwhelmed. I thought it would be more fans singing along with it, but nope just a few bopping heads and like me barely whisper singing. Disappointing. Also one of my friends kept looking at her phone, which really annoyed me, especially as she said she was going to turn it off.

Often people are too nervous to start singing loudly unless someone else does first. You should have started them off! :D
I was looking forward to the virtual open Masters day today but when I joined it was just a prerecorded session and the link for the live chat was broken! disappointing because it felt so impersonal 🙁
